Here it is! SR5 Crewmax TRD Off-road. Loving this truck! Just a couple Tuffskinz additions so far. Looking into a diamondback cover.

 

Your grill mustache almost looks like a black/smoke chrome, same as platinum. Did you change it out? I thought SR5s had body colored mustache

 

I think it’s the shadow off of the garage. It’s a TRD Off Road, so it came with a chrome one. Smoked would look great with this silver, though

 

Wow - that is definitely some optical illusion! I would NEVER guess that it was the chrome one! Great looking truck either way! And I realized, I think it is the SR trim that comes with the body colored mustache. Toyota did some super weird things on these... like Capstone, TRD Pro, and then SR get the body colored mustache? So weird.

 

SR5 gets body color too for regular & TRD Sport trim, weird "upgrade" to chrome on TRD OR package

 

Baffling why Toyota has so many variations that make no sense...

 

Seems Toyota thinks of chrome as "higher tier" than painted items whereas most people think of chrome as tacky haha.

 

I’m just glad it “blends” a little better with the silver.

 

Ordered in May, picked up Wednesday. It was worth the 4 month wait. Scott at Haddad in the Berkshires was awesome. Left the dealer and right to the tire store for 285 75 R18, no rub and fills out the truck nicely.

Came from a 2012 Tacoma DCSB TRD, got the 2022 SR5 Premium TRDOR.

Loving the truck thus far, need to get the tint done soon.

 

2 questions- where are you & can I buy your take off wheels?

Finally picked up Limited TRD OR on Friday.

TRD running boards (so wife can get in the truck) and tonneau (to keep things relatively dry) were first priority.

Next is winter wheels and snow tires.

There is a big list after that.

Brought the new Tundra home today. Deposit was in the first week of January, got the allocation on June 3 or so, and arrived at the dealer about 10 days ago. It was an anxious wait but I was on a business trip and then a hunting trip. I absolutely loathe the chrome and satin grille. It turns my stomach just to see it, it’s gotta go. And the turning radius sucks. And those tires… All fixable other than the turning radius. Otherwise, I love it!

Unlike some people here, I had awesome communication from my salesman. He texted me twice a month when they got allocations to let me know nothing yet, and the once we got this build he updated me on the progress and freight regularly.

I had a very convoluted path to get here. Original order was placed in May at a larger city dealership and I was 94th on the customer list and they received between 3 and 10 trucks per month. I developed a relationship with a dealer that was more rural and they indicated a much lower customer list and getting 1-3 trucks per month. A couple weeks after ordering from this second dealership they called me to say a truck was coming in November.

Ultimately I was able to get a truck sooner when someone had ordered a truck, the truck showed up, and then the customer thought that an even trade for a 5 year old Sienna van was going to fly.

Needless to say it didn't and then I got the truck.

After ordering in February, I finally took delivery on Saturday! 2022 Tundra Limited with TRD Off Road Pkg, in Lunar Rock. Once I get my cat plate from Talon, I can't wait to start working on accessories!

Edit: To those who may feel disrespected, I just noticed the state of the US flag in my pictures. It was immediately replaced.

Love the lunar rock and as I have posted in several other threads that was the color I wanted, but couldn’t wait for one…so yea little jealous…that is ok though since my flag is bigger than your flag!!

 

I've been wanting a Tundra for as long as I can remember and I have finally become financially able to get one. Wow this '22 Platinum is gorgeous! It has every bell and whistle you can imagine. I've noticed people admiring it everywhere I go! Now I wanna work on blacking it out. I'm sure I can get some help here on how to do that and where to buy the after market stuff.
