    Anyone else getting one?

(I'll pause for the customary 'fanboy!' insults. LOL)

On a serious note, I've been happy as can be with my 12. With that said, for about $300 I can trade up to the 14, which has a brighter screen, more RAM, faster CPU, better camera, satellite connectivity for emergencies, etc., so it's worth it. I paid nothing for my 12 (T-Mobile paid it off) so $300 after trade-in for a 14 isn't a bad deal, I suppose.

I traded my 11 pro for a 13 pro max earlier this year when AT&T was doing an $800 credit. If you wait a little while, the carriers will do this again to off load inventory.

Feature creep is how they suck you in. Slightly “better” this and that. The way we compare trucks that can all do the same thing, but one is better because of that extra 12 horsepower or 0.2” of leg room.

I’m happy with my 12 ProMax and I’ll upgrade when its end-of-support or an actual cool feature comes out.

We just traded our 11 Pro Max's for 13 Pro Max's. We got them for the trade in & got them to refund the tax they billed as account credit because we bought the 11's 2.5 years ago or so as they said our 6&7max were the reason we had signal issues and it took until covid waned for us to realize it was not resolved.

That's actually why I went with the iPhone 14. I own the 12, and while I've had no issue with it, I WILL say it gets pretty hot pretty easily. My current one was paid off by T-Mobile, and trading this one in, I'll end up owing like $300 or something.

Current plan is to hold on until next year, when they supposedly switch to USB-C, then I'll haul off and get the iPhone 15 Max Ultra Pro Ultimate whatever, and sit on that for several years.

Besides, unlike the 13, the 14 isn't just an iterative update. It's essentially the same CPU/GPU and camera that the iPhone 13 Pro had, in a 14 body.

    Update:

I bought a 128Gb iPhone Pro. I have to say...the whole Dynamic Island thing is fantastic (apart from the semi-clunky name). Apple used to be known for innovating and the like, but in years past I kinda feel like they're playing catchup on some things. The use of Dynamic Island is one of the first 'Apple' things that they've done in quite awhile....I'd be amazed if others don't try to copy it with a quickness. VERY happy with it. :)

I ordered the 14 PRO. Trading my 12 PRO MAX for 600. The Max is just to damn big. I’m used to it but the PRO is the sweet spot IMO.

Doing it for dynamic Island, 48MP camera and the smaller size. Plus I hope the 5G is better. The 12 series was right at the beginning of it and I find it to be buggy.

Moving from the 11 to the 13 was great for this guy. The available 5G service is what made me upgrade. Well…that and my daughter wanted to go back to an iPhone.

Wife and I are moving from 11&12 to 14 Pro. Nothing wrong with my 12 except a cracked screen that is starting to make operation annoying. Wife needs 5G for work reasons and also going unlimited data.
Even with a cracked screen, the trade in values were decent so I felt ok to spend the money.

I was able to get into a 14 Pro for just a few hundred from my 12 Pro with current promos. There's quite a few things (notification management being at the forefront of that) that I don't like about iphone that I have had to get used to over the past couple of years, but other than that I have been relatively happy with the phone. I decided to step up to the 14 Pro as I do a lot of video out in the field, and I prefer not dragging around the DSLR all of the time. I'm hanging out in the Apple ecosystem for now as I like the color correctness of their phones, and I can get a top-tier phone camera without having to have a full television in my pocket *cough-cough-S22 Ultra I'm looking at you*.

Won't have my new one for a couple of weeks now as I ordered the 512GB version. I bump up against memory limits on my current 256GB after a weekend of recording in the woods.

My wife and I traded in our 11's for a 13 Pro for her and 13 mini for me.

I really like going down in size on the phone and dont really care that it doesnt have a Hubble camera lens on it as it now fits in many more places in my truck and tractor than the 11 did.

I traded my 12 in for the 14 Pro. I wouldn't say it's head and shoulders better, but I notice faster and more solid speeds, which makes sense, due to the updated Qualcomm chipset.

Heh, I cheaped out and got the 128Gb version. I may regret it later, but I doubt it - I'm one of those OCD guys who deletes photos I no longer need once I've taken the pics, they're uploaded to iCloud *and* backed up to my NAS at home. Plus I don't take TONS of pics.

We shall see, though. The nice thing is that my phone's paid off; so if it turns out I need more storage, I'll trade it in and lose little value.

we're going to upgrade from the 12 to the 14s. wife & I are both way up in the boonies camping and the satellite SOS alone is a "we like it" feature.

also pondering the watch ultra too. do we need it? no. do we want it? yeah. have we both worked enough overtime over the past year? also yes. lol.

can either trade in the old phones or sell them locally so the upgrade won't even cost that much.

    1 or 2... I lost count
All these big numbers... Ya boy over here is still rocking the iPhone 7! But I have honestly been looking to upgrade because my battery is shot and the possibility of limited satellite communication is quite interesting to be sure.

I lucked out…ordered and almost got the 14, then decided I wanted the 14 Pro.

Went to the local T-Mobile store…and evidently the guy there thought they had none. He was wrong. LOL

In and out in about 20 minutes. :)

I upgraded from an iPhone 7 Plus to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Battery was going on the 7 and it was time to move on. I'm still getting used to not having a home button on the phone. Hoping I get 6 years out of this one like I did the 7 Plus.

Holy crap; that's a bit of an upgrade. LOL

I do have to say that aside from the normal stuff I've noticed going from a 12 to a 14 Pro (smoother screen; more battery life; Dynamic Island; brighter screen), I've also noticed more stable and faster 5G speeds. Makes sense, as it uses an updated Qualcomm modem, but still. Where I work, outside, with 4 bars, I used to get like 160Mbps with my 12. With the 14 Pro I easily get 270Mbps+. That's a not-insignificant speed increase.

Aye, it's definitely an upgrade. Certainly snappier overall. The 5g network in my area isn't that great so I can't really take advantage of that aspect of the phone. With my general usage, I seem to be going 3 or so days between charges.

I will say, the phone itself feels heavier compared to the 7 Plus. I'm guessing it is the larger battery.
