I think differently. I would wire the air horn to the OE circuit and add a push button for the OE horn or a motorcycle horn. If I need to honk my horn in a serious situation, I want it loud and I don't want to have to reach for a switch. If I want to give a courtesy beep, the smaller horn wired to a switch is better.

That's a very good point and I agree with what you are saying, I just wanted to eliminate or minimize accidental activation. I've probably accidentally sounded my horn in my driveway a dozen times just in the last year working around the wheel and dash. If I did that with someone walking in front of my driveway, I could hurt someone. The overhead console would have been a great spot in my opinion in the front. Maybe I'll change something at some point. One thing that can be done is wire it through a toggle and your OEM horn. Then you have a way to disable it for when you are not on the highway, for instance.

You could wire the horns through a 5 pin relay and use a switch to choose which one activates. Wire the OE horn to the NC side of the relay and the air horn to the NO side. That way they both remain on the steering wheel horn circuit but you can choose. I'm still a fan of adding a courtesy horn using a horn for a motorcycle or moped.

I did this on the Tacoma with my air horn after not remembering to hit the small, out of the way button when I really needed that louder horn. I recommend this route, will be doing same to Tundra when I finally move my OBA over from Taco

Those rims would get destroyed in less than a week driving it through Boston pot-holed streets.

Same with Atlanta, my friend. You practically need fancy suspension to drive the roads around here. The couple of members that've come to visit can attest to how mangled the roads are over here.

Oh, and I'll never understand that "style" of truck customizing like I posted on my reply.

I mean, completely ignoring the Carolina squat they've got going on. This concept of using a large-diameter, deep dish wheel, wheel spacers to push them out far enough to look like a rollerskate, with rubber bands for tires, and a lift.

It's really popular in the suburbs around Atlanta, and I see it a lot in Florida too. Usually on GM and Ford trucks. Typically white teenagers, but it seems like it's catching on with others also. Super impractical, and just looks stupid as hell IMO.

I saw a gorgeous 1st gen Tundra around Anderson SC on my way up to Boone NC with the kids, going to the mountains. Nice, glossy bright yellow paint, but had these roller skate wheels with rubber band tires and I couldn't tell if it was body lifted or not, but the wheel/tire choice was a total bonerkiller for me.

I’m gonna hook my horns up to a tank and see what I get. That lil baby compressor with no tank, I’m surprised it pushes the volume to sound the horns at all. I’ll report back later on that

Yeah, the wheel offset roller skate look has become popular on pickups around here. I’m guessing because MA has strict guidelines on how high you can lift a truck and keep stability. By pushing out the wheels, the higher you can go.

If I wanted to put a lift on my 02, I’d be looking at no more than a 3-4 inch lift as a stock truck.

Had that with my Taco. I ground down opposing sides of the jam nut to make bigger flat surfaces to grip on then used 2 big-ass pipe wrenches to break it free. Then got new nuts obviously

Well finally got her front end aligned and I got to say she fought him good. Tech took two hours to get it done….twice!

Initally shows the the first set of numbers and they were failing miserably. Left camber was -2.5 and right +2.4!!

I’m thinking holy ****. did I get a defective set of arms? Manager looks at it and tells him to back off the plates and drive back on.

Well that brought the machine back in line since the plate popped as he drove off.

What I learned today is never bring in an alignment job so far out of whack…(camber on both sides was off by more than +4.0 initially) because it messes up the Hunter alignment machine.

Tech looked tired and disgusted taking twice as long to do a normal 1 hour job max (or maybe shorter).

I paid $99 for the alignment and tipped the tech $30, but from the look on his face only a Benjamin would make him happy. Lesson learned on both sides.

Haha, it still pulls a little to the right but getting it over 2.0 would require a custom alignment which I doubt they would do considering what I went through with them today. I’m just glad it’s in spec.

Almost done with the swingout, just need to get the wire ropes attached for the drop down table and probably gonna use magnets to keep the table in the upward position. Ill be ordering a rotopax water container as soon as i see some pop up on their blemished section on their website.
