Better to get some huge ass box and put your key in plain sight than hide it for free I guess

One thing I will give ford is those keypads they’ve had since the mid nineties are sweet. Used to lock my keys in the truck and just punch in the code when needed or give it to my friends to drive my truck home when I was a little too pickled.

although I did see one guy do that at a ski mountain and his battery went dead. Fishing your hood latch with a coat hanger isn’t ideally what you want to be doing on a late Saturday afternoon in the cold after a long day of skiing.. but it’s the risk you take

When we're doing our boat thing we sometimes won't see the truck for a couple of days, to over a week or longer. So, truck keys, wallet, Garmin InReach, flares, strobe, space blankets, handheld VHF, cliff bars, and some water, etc all go into a small waterproof, floating ditch bag that's always ready to grab if we have to abandon the boat. It sounds like a lot of stuff but it really isn't.

Out in the boonies with the truck, and we're hiking/exploring, keys, wallet, InReach, etc, go with us in a small day pack.

I really don't like leaving important stuff with the vehicle.

The HitchSafe is a hassle to use and doesn't withstand being left in place when you are driving. I don't recommend it at all.

I also agree that Ford nailed it with their basic driver's side keypad. I really miss that feature.
