The truck I was waiting for months was delivered on Saturday. Although the dealer told me that they will throw different “beefier” tires (not wheels) and a tonneau cover in the mix, they never told me what tires or cover and certainly they didn’t tell that they would charge 10k for it. Besides the 3k for a GPS tracker and some Ceramic coating.

Although the market is crazy right now, I’m not going to play this “hey we don’t have any market adjustments” but then inflate price for accessories game and told them to F. off… will look for an honest dealer and wait a few months more…
Otherwise I would have installed a (Retax) tonneau cover…

 

Ridiculous, I'd be pissed. You should at least name the dealer.

 

That's pretty shady. I agree with in_the_mud. These dealerships need to be called out.

 

I was and in fact I still am... I did send my feedback to the General Manager of Toyota Marin (San Rafael, CA) and his response was: "Thank you for your feedback and good luck in your search for a new Tundra" or as I'd say "The fish stinks from the head"...

 

Funny you say Toyota Marin, we bought a Highlander Hybrid from them in March of this year and paid ~2k over for a GPS tracker (I asked them to remove it and they wouldn't, said it takes too long...I removed it in 5min when I got home) and the paint protection, they wouldn't take it off. Chalked it up as we needed a car so we went along with it because its exactly what the wife wanted. They got us hook, line and sinker though, drove 90 miles to get there with my 2 month old daughter...sucks. Certainly wouldn't pay a markup over what we paid though, 10k for tires and a cover is insane.

 

Yes, I would have paid for the GPS and paint protection, even if 3k is "a bit on the high side". The 10k for tires and cover send me over the edge. They probably would even have kept the stock tires and sold them to someone else... Anyway, there is no way I would want to do any business with such a company that isn't transparent about their "markups" and even tell customers "we don't have any markup"

 

Yup they advertised no markups too. I almost want to ship the BS Starguard GPS thing back to them with a steaming pile of poop.

Be great looking for moose and deer standing in the ditch waiting to jump on the hood!

 

These will hopefully be handy driving the back roads of PA where there are no lights anywhere and deer are plentiful.

Looks good, do you have any other angles of pics. Also are those the bedliner or black powder coat? Picking up mine tomorrow and not sure if I want the slims or full size.

 

I’d get the full size. I couldn’t imagine the slums have much stepping surface. And it’s the bed liner. Got ‘em for $500 here

I got the cheaper bedliner version, from what I can tell it seems to be a pretty durable finish and still has plenty of grip getting in and out of the truck even when wet. Also, I've never been so happy to hear rocks hitting the underside of these running boards, I'm very happy with the with wider stepping surface compared to the slim version since my tires do poke out a little.

 

@Baja Designs I am in San Marcos with a 2022 Tundra Limited if you want me test some stuff, just saying

 

Question for anyone that has done the seat jackers from desert does it.

instructions said T40 torx but mine was a T45. Instructions wrong or is the TRD pro just a different size from the rest?

 

I love this ... like it much better than ditch lights up top.

 

Instructions were just wrong. Mine was a T45 too

 

Mine ended up being a T50 technically luckily I didn’t strip eith the t45

 

Nice truck. The corner lights are interesting, I'd just be concerned that at that much of an angle (even if they are flood lights), it would be too late if you illuminated an animal off the side of the road. I'd be interested in a setup like this if they could be aimed a few degrees to the left and right of center at the sides of the road maybe 100 ft ahead.
