    Hey everyone -

When I “ordered” my ‘22 Tundra I submitted preferences early enough that the factory could add a few things. One of the additions was the Toyota tri-fold tonneau cover. Overall I’m pretty happy with it; however, I’m getting some scarring where the cover rests on itself. Does anyone have any recommendations for aftermarket pads I can add to prevent further damage?

The cover also came with two rest pads (near the cab) that the whole thing sits on when it is folded as much as it can be (these are too thick to help the first spot, and I’m not sure I could buy extras anyway). My other complaint with the cover is that these pads keep coming off. It looks like they weren’t installed well initially. I got in touch with my local service center and they suggested I get a black silicone sealant. That came in today and I plan to put them back on in the next couple days.

I have an Undercover Flex on my 2014.
Their foam pads suck and won't stay on.

As well I needed a piece for when I fully open it to rest against the third brake light while I get the mounts out for when I need to stay open.

I had an epic fail with a tailgate seal and only used part of it.
I used some of the rest and cut my own pad pieces for the cover.
I just cleaned the area well with alcohol and it has stuck ever since.

May not be the best idea, but it's what I did..

The tailgate seal was a waste of time for its intended purpose..
    I've since removed it.

But it did help me get the idea for my bottle opener..
