Man, I bet when you do the math with car flipping, you're making about $6.76 an hour!

Eh it’s more the thrill of the hunt and getting to try one each se what it’s about. The window to try everything out and make money is closing.

Platinum PowerBoost BAP looks like a FANTASTIC truck. Have to say, it may have jumped into the top spot for “if I had to buy a new ICE truck tomorrow” category.

Looking forward to reading how you like it. Good luck!

I saw one in person the other day getting the lightning appraised. It's a nice ass truck. But I'm sticking with the pro until raptor comes. Only thing I would dump the pro for is the 23 CRV or 23 Pilot if they are a good revision.

It might be rated to pull 15k but it’s just not enough power with the gasser if there are hills. I wouldn’t recommend towing more than 10k consistently with a GMC gasser unless it’s flat everywhere you go. Literally had mine floored going up Teton pass hauling 8k, couldn’t even hold 40mph. The 6.6 GM gasser basically feels like the same power as my Tundra 5.7 did. Although on the plus side my transmission was barely over 200F and I had plenty of my 3,500lbs of payload leftover.

I really don’t get all the GM seat hate. I have driven my GMC HD 2500 800 miles in a day and felt great afterwards. Even back-to-back days totaling about 1,200 miles. It is by far the most comfortable long ride seat I’ve owned, definitely better than my 2016 Platinum Tundra was.

You're a brave soul. Both my yukon and Tahoe I could feel the seat and lane keep reminders on top of how stiff and non conforming they were. Test drove a 21 AT4 and it was dejavu

Please don't take this the wrong cause I am totally curious. Do you maybe just have a "fat ass" and just have more cushion?? My ass is pretty bony/skinny and those seats are just flat out horrible to me. Like sitting on a 2x12 board

I’m down 60-70 pounds since I owned the Yukon and Tahoe and drove the at4 so I can attest that as a large man it was uncomfortable.

my wife is small af and she said they were uncomfortable and she never complains

This is pretty wild. I tried to test their quote feature out too for kicks and giggles and felt something wasn’t working right. They offered me $57k for my 2022 Pro with 2500 miles. Not that it’s super relevant when I had a dealership offer to purchase at $75k.

This is facts for many cars right now.

My son is about to driving age

Looking at slightly used Civic, they're more than new!
The local Honda dealership wants $25.5k for a manual transmission hatchback, 2018 with 46k miles. Worst part is it looks like dirty Mike and da boys turned the interior into a soup kitchen and the dealership couldn't even be bothered for a courtesy wipe! This car was $21k max 4 years ago.....

I was given a Yukon XL Denali with the 6.2L as a rental for a business trip out of state a while back, and the seats felt fine, but the stupid proximity and lane departure sensors went nuts the whole time. Like buzzing my seat for no apparent reason. Buzzing in a drive-thru. Buzzing when someone would pass me or when I'd pass someone else.

Peppy engine, loved the 10 speed, had lots of options, etc but the amount of buzzing I got in that seat and the incessantly rattling interior (at only 19k miles) made me very happy to see my Tundra again when I got home.

I've never felt uncomfortable in a vehicle seat, so I'm probably the wrong person to ask anyway...

Good question. Maybe...??? If so, I wonder if you have to turn it off every time you start the vehicle...

Makes sense. All that extra weight and only 20 more hp than the Tundra.

So the Tundra would also be doing 40mph over passes in Wyoming? Just kinda curious because I had been considering trading in my Lexus GX for either an LX570 or Land Cruiser with the 5.7L to tow my 5500 lb travel trailer. I am in UT at 6500'. Neither the GX or LC/LX are ideal tow vehicles but my major hangup with the GX is lack of power with the 4.6L. It does ok but towing on the open freeway like I-80 or I-15 wouldnt be all that fun.

Damn....So I was gonna list my 2021 Platinum for $70k after I put the s/c on but your saying I could make an easy $15k just trading it in? lol I only paid $56k for it with 3500 miles

Edit: lol ok no, they'll only give me your price $48,384

Just buy a TRD Pro bed side and you will get 70k. I mean, thats basically all the TRD Pro is anyways :fistbump:

I’m looking hard at an older 200 series to replace my wife’s Yukon.

Lexus says the LX 5.7 takes premium and lists it as having more horsepower than the LC 5.7, but guys over at ih8mud are saying they run 87 in the LX with no issues.

A small trailer and putting one of my kids in the third row to spread them all out might be really nice.

I am pretty sure it would just run the same power on 87 as the LC does. Lexus does the same thing with the GX460 vs the Tundra 4.6L.

I have towed my 5500 lb trailer with my GX out to Vernal and the Flaming Gorge on separate trips and it gets the job done, but not in a relaxed kind of way. I was having trouble keeping pace with the 18 wheelers on I-80 in Wyoming with good conditions, a head wind and/or high temperature would completely suck.

Stability wise, its better than I thought for a vehicle with a 109" wheelbase. Def wanders more than my F150 but it handled good and had no issues with some decent cross winds doing 65 mph.

I assume the LC/LX would be that and maybe a little bit better since it is slightly wider, longer and heavier. I have heard a bunch of times that the AHC suspension system on the LX makes a big difference towing.

This picture is the top of Wolf Creek Pass here in Utah at 9500 ft. It climbs from 7400' in like 7 miles I think. It pulled the pass fine other than the transmission temp went nuclear.

Yeah it makes me wonder…so does that mean I get 383HP in every 5.7 running on 91? Kind of goofy but I get that they’re trying to put some distance between Toyota and Lexus.

Yeah the AHC is a feature, not the bug I thought it was before really looking into it. I had assumed it was an air ride, but it seems to be problem free and highly useful when towing.

I’d definitely add or upgrade an external radiator up front if I had worrying temps on the GX. But if it’s giving you shifting issues, not wanting to shift, etc, the full flush might fix yours too. Local transmission shop that specializes in Toyotas told me those issues are characteristic of high mileage transmissions that towed or for some other reason operated at higher temps and now have a film or varnish on internal surfaces. A good full flush might cure it. But not the shift programming, obviously

I hear ya.. maybe I’m not that fussy, I didn’t even have power seats. Made 4 trips from Atlantic Canada to British Columbia. In my Sierra 4 - 16 hour days, 1 way from NS - BC 6000km no real complaints on any trips other then just fatigue.. doesn’t matter what the seat is at that point. Had a couple 1000km days in the tundra so far, and I can tell when I’m not sitting exactly where I’m supposed to on the seat base.. creates pressure points on my boney arse.

Somehow the GMC seats work great for my 6’2” 205lbs frame and my wife likes them and she is 5’0” with a smallish build. My wife had to use a seat bulster cushion in my Tundra on long trips, doesn’t need it in my GMC. She was stuck in the middle back seat for 2.5 hours once and was hating life.

The pass had a 10% grade so it was about as bad as it can get. Another guy had a similar sized trailer with a newish F-150, he was pulled over with is hood up. If I was doing that pass in my old Tundra I would’ve been watching the trans temp too much to worry about the speed.

I did that pass! My top speed at the top was 30mph. I had my Tundra and my camper weighed 7k. GCVWR was 14,300lbs. Thought I blew a tranny at first & then did some math. 10,000’ elevation, 6 miles of 10% grade, duh! I lost 30% HP with elevation. Everyone that passed me at the top must have been Tundra fanboys also, cause they all gave me the number 1 gesture as they passed me:)
Going down the other side wasn’t much better.

Yes i am familiar with the pass, its not a very high speed limit anyways, i wouldnt think 40 would be all that bad. Just surprised it would be floored

just curious about the Tundras towing power. Towing a steep pass is less of a concern to me than pulling into a 30+ mph headwind on a 7% grade somewhere on I-80 tbh.

I know on my 2017 2500HD Denali it could all be turned off and would stay off until you physically turn it back on, wouldn't reset after a restart. Same thing with my current Titan XD.

I've towed a JK on a 2000lbs trailer up to 10k ft elevation a few times. On i70 in the rocky mountains, it does pin the RPMs to 4-5k to clear it, but it clears. Will see how it does later this year after the supercharger is installed

It was a very weird feeling to literally have it floored and still not be going quite 40mph. If I could go faster it probably would have been only about 45 but if I weighed any more my speed probably would’ve been dropping.

One time I was pulling the same trailer with my Tundra to Yellowstone. Was on a somewhat flat two lane highway with a strong head wind, had a hard time holding 50mph. If it was a head wind on a decent grade it could be very slow.
