Just a heads up, noting your location, that under cabinet light will most likely not survive/hold a charge come the winter time colder months.

Hardwire LED strips can be had for cheap and might be worth considering..

Being it’s a quick disconnect, I plan on keeping the light/battery in the cab come winter and only connecting it up when I need it. Didn’t want to go the hardwire route at the moment being I’ll mostly want to use it when the truck is powered off (preparing for hunting and fishing) and didn’t feel like running a wire all the way up to the battery. Figure for the amount of use it’s gonna get, it wasn’t worth the time/effort currently

Similar answer my pops gave me. I wired his to the cargo lamps. If you leave a door ajar the lights will stay illuminated until the door is closed or the doors are locked.

    just some food for though.

I have the 8100 in my 4Runner and am not impressed. That’s not a knock on Trail Grid, they’ve been great to deal with. The setup is ok for the most part, but it’s got some glitches with its functions and the dash kit from Metra is definitely not great. It doesn’t snap in well to the dash. I’ll try switching the clips out for the factory ones and see if that helps. Hope the 9500 kit treats you better.

I know it is super lame, but all last fall I used one of those shitty little blue hanging led lights you get for free from Harbor Freight. Mostly to have light after soccer practice for changing out wet gear. Lame but worked great for the need.

I thought I’ve seen posts the heated steering wheel was an option as part of a cold weather package, but it was on a truck in Canada. Yep, I wish I could swap a heated steering wheel into mine. I’ve had heated grips on my motorcycles, and now have it on my steering wheel in my M235 convertible. Nice.

got these small led work lights setup for backup lighting, I like that they can kind of fold up/down to throw the light at a better angle and not shoot straight back. Wired them up with a nice DT style connector and splitter so I could remove/swap out later.

Ordered an Atlas 4 speed transfer case with a 3.8:1 gear set. Lowest gear ratio will be 182:1 when crawling. Because of inventory delays I probably won’t get it until February but should be ready to do the Rubicon Trail again by spring.

Installed the Trail Grid Pro Sony 9500 head unit kit. Total install took me roughly an hour. Having everything prewired and ready to go was awesome. Messed around with it a bit and it definitely brought the stock speakers to life. Also switched the map, dome, and footwell lights to LED. BE3EF465-851B-4CC4-82B5-B8EE7A932C0E.jpg

Definitely don’t need new headlights, but a Labor Day promo kind sealed it for me. Got it all broke down, ran the new harness for LED housings, just waiting on the delivery guy.
