Installed Seat Jackers. What an amazing difference. Like a whole new set of seats.

Sorry not sorry lol. There's probably 100 other things I could have done with $400 but this is one thing that I touch literally every day. I've never owned a vehicle with a urethane wheel and this one was irritating the shit out of me. For me it's like getting a nice mattress or office chair, if you touch, lay down, or use it for hours every day better get a nice one.

Couldn’t agree more. Every time I get into the wifes grandcherokee I’m reminded how shitty my steering wheel is lol. I’ll probably do this soon

That is how I feel about my heated steering wheel in my Lexus and wish I could have one in my Tundras.

Get a cheap steering wheel cover?

At least it will buy you some time. I put my cover on a few months after buying the truck. Its finally wearing out after almost 4 years. Looking at doing a leather wrap now since no one has a black and blue leather wheel for an affordable price. No I don't consider 1k an affordable price for a steering wheel lol

After driving with my Tacoma coming up on 7 years and driving the tundra. The Tacoma steering wheel is nice and more comfortable but the tundra steering wheel doesn’t bother me. At least not enough to change it, but I do see the appeal to swap it and most people are glad they did.

This may sound crazy, but I actually like the cheaper, spongy foam steering wheels (not sure what the actual material is) over leather ones. I find that they allow more grip and finesse of the wheel, whereas your hands slip a lot on the leather wheels. Mine's a Platinum and I've considered "downgrading" the wheel to an SR5 model, but don't really care enough to mess with it.

I swapped in a used Tacoma leather steering wheel I got on eBay for 160 bucks. It’s a direct swap

You scored on that. I looked at a few of those but the ones I did see were about the same price as the brand new one without the control inserts I ended up getting. Would have preferred those mag gray inserts for that price for sure.

Quite easy in fact, especially if you get the steering wheel nut puller tool

Here is something crazy - I’ve been on the fence about this upgrade for a couple years - had a wheel from SDHQ in the cart and everything but have resisted. Now we have the LandCruiser with the leather wheel and it kinda bothers me I can feel every nick and imperfection in the soft leather - makes me think the hard poly wheel isn’t so bad especially with my sweaty dirty meat hooks.

In preparation for getting my 5100’s and 35’s I installed the coach builder bumper shims installed and fixed the fog light jiggle that always drove me nuts. Added thick insulation foam and now they are solid with ZERO movement

yeah I felt it was best to remove it completely, from what I’ve read it’s not totally needed. But oh well. Gave me good opportunity to get eyes on the complete front end and also address my fog light issue.

I had a hard time getting the bumper off the frame mounts, used a old screw driver and the hammer to separate the bumper from the mount. I tried just pulling and wiggling at first but it didn’t wanna budge for me.

Pretty straight forward, the Tacoma steering wheel controls are the same as the tundra so it all just swaps over. I did have to get an alignment afterwards because the splines were one tooth off between the two steering wheels. So the wheel was a little crooked when driving straight.

Pretty happy with the result, we’ll see if I have to add some more 3M tape in the future. Interior LED kit off Amazon and the new Sony 9500 head unit from Trail Grid Pro show up tomorrow. Leaving for camp tomorrow night after work so don’t know if I’ll get them installed this weekend or next.

Pretty pumped for the Sony 9500 kit. Here’s the link for any interested https://trailgridpro.com/products/sony-xav-9500es-plug-play-bundle-14-21-tundra/
