Some updated pics of my 2001. I've been running this setup for the last year and a half and love it. Moved from 37's back down to 35's for some gas mileage savings although adding the beadlocks probably offset any savings due to the weight.

That's a paint wrap right? How does the wrap hold up to brush and trees on the trails?

That is a wrap, and it's holding up alright. You can see where the branches have pinstriped the side, but the matte finish hides it fairly decently.

Any insight on how you made 37’s fit in the front? Looks like oem fenders too. Did you tub the firewall? I’m on a mission to stuff 35’s with 3” of lift.

The firewall is tubbed for 37's, although it sill would rub the frame when turning. If you are shooting for 35's you will want to tub the firewall, and I recommend running a wheel with a -38 offset and 3.5" back spacing. It will keep you off the frame at full lock. My fenders are OEM, but they are trimmed quite a bit, as are the flares.

New member, just purchase this 2006 double cab. Not in love with the chrome race line wheels or the 245/70/17 size tires. 90151831-24D6-4984-940A-FA73FB4EA152.jpg

Hey thanks your right about that. It was replaced 8/2015 with a whopping 30,800 miles at his local yota dealership. Bless him for taking care of it right. He had the entire coolant system flushed 3 times in 30k miles. Looking at the paperwork it has only had a faulty pass window switch go bad and when I first got it o2 sensor went bad first time I had to give it the boot merging. Running very good now. Great thread.

Actually I have a slightly larger camper than the one pictured that only weighs 5500 lbs. Way under the trucks towing capacity.

Not psyched about posting right after Casper421 - but I've been wanting to post while on our trip. Typically as a stepside I just try to stay as hidden as possible to avoid the (mostly warranted) ridicule. The Tundra operates as a work & camping vehicle for us. Currently on a trip from Central Texas up to Glacier NP, and Banff - mostly forrest land camping. Could not be happier with how the truck has treated us on the trip & the rough and ragged roads we end up on. Very thankful to the forum which has guided me on various fixes, improvements, changes, and aspiration.

yaaaa Texas!! Born and raised. Wimberley area.

Never been to HF but it sounds very cool - I go up that way every once in a while for spider mountain, a downhill mountain bike place.

We made it into Moab last night, drug our little trailer down some roads it was not all that happy about.

One of my favorite places on earth is Moab.

Where are you heading next? If you’re heading south, I recommend stopping at Goblin Valley!

The area is quickly becoming one of our favorites - we have plans to come back next fall.

We head back to the TX Hill country after this, unfortunately we won’t have the time for Goblin valley, but it looks excellent. We will have to make a stop next trip through - appreciate the suggestion!

Found a little more trouble out here today. It was excellent.

I'm new to the forum, but have had my 2004 for 10 years now. I love the truck and have no complaints. I tow cars and bikes to shows, lots of off reading/mud/rock climbing,20220925_114353.jpg 20220911_150239.jpg

Two coats of POR-15 has kept mine from rusting externally for 8-10 years. You can put fluid film on top of it yearly if desired.

Now mine just rusts from the inside out. :(
