While on a incline/decline, even a slight one. While in neutral and parking break depressed, the truck still rolls. It does feel like there is some resistance but I am concerned that the parking break is not working properly. Should this be something that needs to be addressed?

    Too many mods to come

There's an adjustment that needs to be tightened potentially in the rear brakes. Have you done a brake job?

You need to take your back tires off and adjust the shoes inside your rotors to take up the slack and it will hold like a charm!

Is this something the dealership can do?

If you got a screw driver and 15 minutes of your time it's easily done in your driveway! Ya a dealership could do it if you want to pay them!

You're welcome, ya super easy to do! I just did brakes on mine about 3500 miles ago and ran it for about 3k then had to re-adjust them again for them to hold better. He say's go about 7 screw driver turns out loose but I did about 3 or 4 and its perfect!!!

Yes. I took mine in for an inspection a few weeks ago and had them do mine since it was already there. Was about $70 at my dealership. if I didn’t have to take it in I might have done it myself.

Almost the exact same thing here. 2021, about 8k miles. My parking brake is the same way, lets it roll a lot. Seems worse rolling backwards than forwards. It was always like that, though does seem like it's gotten worse.

Pretty sure my 2018 was the same way, though maybe not quite this bad.

Even if it is an easy adjustment, frustrating that it would need adjusted so soon. I don't think I've ever adjusted a parking brake on any other vehicle and never had an issue.

I also hate the toggle-style pedal for the parking brake. Ever bump it on the way out? I have. Not often, but I've done it at least a couple times. It just seems like a stupid system to have your parking brake activated by a pedal that if you lightly bump it again it will release.

My favorite parking brake operation was on my old manual transmission Tacoma, the pull T-handle. There was no accidentally letting that thing loose, and it held rock solid.

Wait till your 10K mile free oil change and have the dealership do it under warranty.

Take it to the dealer and tell them it doesn’t hold. It will be warranty since it only has 7k on it. I have had small things that one wouldn’t consider warranty work done to my vehicles.

This is the one I used on my 21. It worked great. My truck's brake was nearly worthly when new. As soon as i brought it home I went looking for the slack adjuster and took nearly 1/2 of slack out. That was good enough for a while but decided to go the proper route when I rotated the tires. It did hold better once the rear brake shoes were set first.

Do yourself a favor afterwards. Spit check the drums for excess heat in case you got them too tight.

This should be under warranty. My truck is not under warranty, but following the video worked for me. I actually did end up having to take, IMO, a lot of slack out of the cable to get the gap on the brake shoes.
