Anyone running 612 coils with a bumper? Since the spring rate is the same it seems like it should work fine, just less lift which is fine with me. I’m looking at the 612 springs, Toytec shackles and OME Nitrochargers all around.

I have the 612 front springs and shocks installed on a 2020 Tundra w/ JBA Offroad UCAs and i i keep getting bad outside tire wear. Here is a pick of the alignment numbers a couple weeks ago.

What's everyone else's experience with the OME suspension? Maybe i'm doing something wrong.

About to upgrade the suspension in my 16 Tundra SR5 long bottom 5.7L. I’m going with the Old Man 612s kit with the front and rear nitros and Dakar springs.

These tool boxes weigh more than I thought. My stock leaf springs are completely flat on level ground. Hoping to get 2.5” in back and front and still maintian factory rake.

    Hi everyone,

Need some advice on the front strut assembly. I’m wondering when your front struts were assembled, was there a rubber bump stop put on the strut shaft (under the dust cover)?

Is there bump stocks on the shocks at the back as well?

I’m assembling these without removing the oem bilstiens because I need a vehicle at the moment.

    thanks

Really enjoyed reading through this thread. I've spent quite a bit of time on this forum looking for opinions and real world feedback on various kits/brands. For what I'm looking for, I believe this thread has me sold on OME. However, I'd like to get some feedback before I pull the trigger.

I have a 2013 Double Cab, non TRD, with 83K miles, LRO 3/1, 305/55s on 20x10s. Truck has rode surprisingly well up until about 70K miles. It spends 95% of its time on pavement, with the exception of hitting the beach during the summer.

My hopes are to improve ride quality both on pavement and the beach. Below is my thought process. I welcome any and all suggestions/recommendations.

    OME 612s front & rear
    Camburg UCAs
    CB +2s
The widest 33 that will fit without a BMC, bumper shims, trimming, etc. on 17" or 18" Methods (need some help with this one)

    Thanks for readin.

I enjoyed reading and learning a lot about the OME kits and the Tundra trucks. I’ve been following OME for the last 20 years with their Jeep products and knew they were popular among Toyota’s in Australia.

I recently purchased a 2021 CM TRD OR and looking to level out the truck. I’m planning on either 33 or 34 inch A/T tires. My main concern would be towing a 4K lbs boat 200 miles about a dozen or more times over the summer. And, I plan on doing mild off roading.

I’m looking into the OME 612 kit minus the rear leaf spring block and using either a CB +2/+3 shackle. I wasn’t planning on adding UCAs unless I had too.

I have a few questions after reading the post; Should I be concerned with the ball joints, or the drive line vibes and install the necessary drop kits while I’m replacing the suspension or do the issues vary among the trucks?

I seen a few guys running stock TRD Pro wheels or the TRD OR wheels with larger tires. Are wheel spacers necessary? If they aren’t is there any rubbing issues? I prefer the modified stock look.

Any suggestions/ recommendations would be helpful.

When I first leveled my truck 50,000 miles ago, UCAs never crossed my mind. Bought a 3/1 kit from Low Range, installed, took it to a reputable shop for alignment, and forgot about it. Truck has rode surprisingly well on factory suspension up until recently, so I'm in replacement mode now. My decision to get UCAs really just stems from needing new ball joints. And since they also improve wheel travel and overall ride quality, I figured it was worth the investment. But to answer your question, in my opinion, I do not think you need to worry about ball joints at this time. Just make sure you use a reputable shop for your alignment.

Regarding driveline vibrations, it is my opinion that they vary by truck. My Low Range kit came with a diff drop, so I went ahead and installed it. Was it needed, it's hard to say. And when I go to install new coilovers, I'll most likely leave it in. Some guys on here don't run them and have zero problems. The guys at Camburg have said they have never installed them on customer trucks or any of their race trucks, and have never had driveline problems. Hope this helps.

Im about to go with OME kit for my new to me 2017 Tundra CrewMax.

Since Im keeping the stock bumper for now and going with 612 for roughly 2.75" lift, how much do the leaf springs lift the rear?

I just installed the Dakars with + drivers and 0 passenger with the OME add a leaf for 7 total leafs. I put 4 coats of graphite paint on riding surfaces before installing leafs. While putting leaf packs together, I noticed it is easy to mess up the Teflon pads.

Squatting Pigeon, it possible one of the pads between springs is gone or worn out?

I also put Molly grease between leafs before assembly. I have the OME grease zerk shackles as well. My set up is similar to yours with 613 fronts and SPC. I installed a front Differential drop, rear carrier bearing drop, and ARB brake line/sensor extensions. I replaced the lower ball joints as well since the truck has 160,000 on it.
After reading this entire thread I wiped all possible rustable surfaces with Naptha and 120 grit sanded them lightly, then painted 5 coats of yellow tractor paint to prevent MN salt rust.
I have a Iron Cross bad ass front bumper with a hidden class 4 portable winch mount. I added Sumo springs and Power Stop slotted and drilled rotors with ceramic pads with braided stainless break lines and new callipers all around for Towing our 5th wheel All Season Traveler Ice Castle Fish house/RV at 8500#’s dry weight. Truck is a 2010 TRD Limited with rear TRD sway bar with BDS drop links. So far my lift is 3.5 in front with about 3” in rear with a slight rake.

We have terrible roads here due to frost and way too many over loaded logging trucks. My ride after about 500 miles is softer than my Helwig add a leaf stock rear springs. The front end is way stiffer and you can feel bumps in the steering wheel. It is not too harsh though. I plan to add a plow this winter for clearing snow while ice fishing. Two years ago we put ARB Air Lockers front and back. We replaced the Transmission with a custom International Performance Transmission (IPT) built for towing. We added an extra B&M cooler as well.

I have no idea, but I have put these things through their paces. It wouldnt surprise me at all if I lost a pad on an offroad trip.
Its also worth noting that the squeak is still going strong, it just comes and goes depending on the day.

Checking in now 2 years and almost 30k miles on my OME 612 setup. No issues, still very happy with on road and off road performance.

Anyone do a add a leaf to the OME leaf pack? With the canopy and all my gear in the back the leaf pack seems to go negative. Don’t like that as the suspension is only a few months old.

I was thinking about adding 2 leafs to both sides. Give it a total of 8.

I have the extra OME leafs and also put Sumo springs on instead of factory bump stops. I tow a small 5th wheel made for ice fishing and camping with a 8600# dry weight and loaded 10,000. I finished the install this spring and use the truck as my daily driver. It is a little stiffer in back but not much more than with factory springs and an added leaf. The large number of smaller leafs is actually smoother over rough terrain.

Finally got my OME lift on along with SPC upper control arms. Great ride and roughly 2.5 in lift all around with not a whole lot of rake.

Finally got done reading through this thread. I had been on track to do a Bilstein 6112 setup but am now thinking of doing OME with the 614 springs and Dakar leaf springs in the back. Has anybody experienced any premature wear, added maintenance cost, or loss of performance due to NOT installing the diff drop? Wanting to go with 295/70s on Icon 17s (+25), anybody with knowledge have any input on whether I should expect to deal with any rubbing?

I’d do the diff drop if you lift your tundra regardless of how much. And as for 295s they’ll be fine just get a good alignment. I have 305/70r18 +25 offset and don’t rub

have been running mine for a bit now - super happy with it. I didn't read through all the pages, but has anyone posted fender to center of hub measurements? I'm showing 25.25" (OME 612 + 3/8" spacer) - worried I'm over the 3" lift mark. Have also been wondering why I didn't have any rake - makes sense as I forgot I had installed the spacer

UPDATED: went through and read on others measurements - looks like I'm not really that out of wack like I thought - good to know

Your truck looks great. Can I ask what size the tires and rims are? Your truck has the look I am after. Thx.
