Hahaha I’ve never had any experience with their products, just thought I’d add the option in the thread

 

Why?

 

I think I finally decided on my temporary setup for the rear.

My Icon Stage 4 kit includes extended shocks for the rear. I'm going to supplement them with rear components that will be ready to go when more rear coils hit the market.

In addition to the Icon extended shocks, I'm going to install:

• Extended Rear Brake lines - Ordered from YotoMafia (Labor Day sale)
• Icon Extended Length Panhard Bar - Bought during Icon's Labor Day sale
• Cornfed Off Road 1" Rear Coil Spacers - Grabbed this on their Labor Day sale

Coil Spacer Note: I thought about going straight to the Dobinsons LC80 springs, but they're majorly backordered right now. Dobinsons Direct says they're going to be a few months to catch up production. This is why I ended up with the rear spacer. My shop inquired with Westcott to see if they'd sell the rear spacer separately but they didn't want to open that can of worms. ProComp makes a rear coil spacer similar to the Westcott design, but it's also severely backordered. CornFed is the only other vendor making a rear spacer right now that I know of.

This rear setup should work well whenever more rear coils hit the market and give me room to go a little higher. Right now, this should be good for my needs and allow for 3"/1" lift when combined with the Icon setup.

I don't plan on running a heavy load in the rear until next year. Eventually, I'm going to spec out an RSI SmartCap and build a "mini" Expedition setup using that. However, RSI won't be releasing their SmartCap until December 2022, as of my last convo with their CS department.

 

Adventure Motors was advertising their kits ready to ship, which included whichever coil you choose. Maybe reach out to them to see if they can sell you just the coil?
Also, Is the Panhard bar necessary with just a 1" rear lift?

 

I think I'm gonna wait for a bit to see what other springs hit the market. Ideally, I'd like to see some variable-rate springs get tested on the truck. I don't think I've seen any variable rate springs hit the market yet?

No, but I alluded in my post that I'm not going to stay at 1" for too long. I'm going to put in the Panhard Bar while I'm installing everything else. Since it's adjustable, I can install it now and extend it later based on whatever coils I end up going with.

 

OME has coils. Running the extra heavy duty 80 series coils on my truck with a 1500 pound camper and they work great. They also have 2-3 other spring rates. Waiting on icon components as well for the rear.

I like the Westcott lift (running it now for the past 9 mths)…but you have more off-roading during your work week that I think that kit was designed for.

I would personally see if you can get the OEM TRD kit (~$4K - $5K installed) and call it a day.

I plan to get it…will clear your 35’s easy (see link in post #317 above) and you get a dealer backed 3 year warranty.

Some of the other kits on here will do it for you but with the TRD kit you will know that Toyota has done all the work for you (R&D and Install and Warranty)

They're massively subpar for what you pay for. I've been in trucks with their top of the line kits that rode worse than stock. If you search through forums and facebook groups, these shocks are notorious for shearing in half on the trails (which I've seen happen personally). They're an inferior Elka made shock that they painted shiny red and hiked the price up. You can get far better for the money.

And to boot, when my buddy had his Toytec rear shocks snap in half on a trail, Toytec responded by saying "we'll give you 5% off a set of kings or foxes". Their products are so bad they don't even stand behind them.

 

Got it - thanks for the feedback. I have their stuff on my truck but I don't beat on it. I think the add-a-leafs are Deaver but it's their kit.

 

Nice! There's obviously lots of people out there with their kits with no problems. But I've seen enough failures and experienced it first hand that I wouldn't recommend it. But hey, they're a large company that seems to be doing well so they must be doing something right lol

 

I would skip the toyota lift honestly, the shocks are going to crap out on you with what you’re doing… unless you are okay with replacing them in a year with something better.

call Michael at Adventure Motors in Kansas City to get their lift kit, or if you want to go all out they are piecing together the best parts from the trd lift kit with the dobinsons and fox suspension from their kit. They have everything in stock and ready to ship, no one else does.

 

Yeah might not be the best - just gathering data points.

 

I am running the 2864. Here are the other options available from my notes. Not sure if the 2862 or 2863J would work though.

2860 Med 2.5" lift
2862 Low height Med
2863 Heavy 2.5" lift
2863J Heavy 3" + lift
2864 Extra Heavy 2.5" lift 880+ lbs GVW

 

I'm going to have the ICON Stage 6 kit installed in the next week or two and stuff 37" tires under the wheel wells. I bought these front spacers from Cornfed Suspension just in case I need an additional 1/2" of clearance. My question is would these 3D printed spacers hold up to off-road abuse? Any of you guys have any experience with this product?

 

I’ve used Cornfed on my GX without any issues.

 

How are you liking that Adventure Motors package? My truck arrived yesterday (Limited TRD OR Hybrid) and I have the AMKC package on the way. I had the Westcott lift already in house ready to go and changed my mind last minute when I realize that they had a solution for the Hybrid. Great guys and super helpful. Aside from not having any seat time to say how it drives/rides, I would agree with @DexterL about going this route.

 

That looks like machined delrin or some other composite, but I doubt it’s 3D printed.
