    So, is anyone else disappointed in the Rings of Power?
    I’m an old Tolkien fan. In the days before computers I would re-read the trilogy once a year.
    The lord of the rings movies were really well done considering the limited special effects technology available at the time they were made.
    ‘Rings of power’ has great features, a decent story and special effects but the casting is so bad that I couldn’t even make it through the first episode.

    Well maybe not quite ;). I didn't follow the original series apart from seeing an episode here and there growing up during the 80s (I think it was on PBS). It didn't have any consistency in airings from what I remember, which made it tough to follow. Plus I was too young to remember any of it. I considered starting from the beginning with my current run, but when I found out that not all seasons are available I decided to just start with the 2005 series. It has taken me almost a year to get to this point (started last October), so yeah, I don' think I'll ever get around to the prior seasons.
