Biased opinion here, but @aelarson, maybe consider swapping to a long bed.

I wish! I need the Crewcab though. I always have 3-4 people in the truck and it's always nice having a small apartment worth of room back their!

I might just trade it in for a 53' trailer and a big rig

Check out a company called Stowaway. They make swing out hitch carriers. I think they sell just the frames.

Update, Finally and I couldn’t be any happier. I wanted an 80’s early 90’s look and that’s exactly what it is. Summit Dakar in Machined finish with 35 RidgeGrapplers.

Reporting back after the seat jacker install. I'm unsure what to think of them currently. It's kind of awkward how tall I feel in the seat, my steering wheel also comes out and hits my knees when I put the key in the ignition which I'm not a fan of at all and I still havent found a comfortable position for my seat.
Ill give it a month before I have a final verdict.

Besides that, my passenger seat was TIGHT from the factory! Almost had to bust out the impact to get the bolts out.
The driver side was the complete opposite. The two front bolts were finger tight and the rears were barely snug.
Kind of unnerving but knowing they're tight makes me feel better.

2.5 Gen Wheels and soon to have the TRD off road suspension.
About a week ago now, but got a set of 2.5 gen wheels. Definitely gives the truck a better look.

After having a friend with a better ear listen it turned out the next step was to replace the dash mounted tweeters. Installed some 2.75" kicker tweeters, it seems they are one of the few that makes exact sized replacements. Holy cow, this really unlocked the sound. A side by side test of these with worn out 07 speakers made the 07s sound like they were playing from underwater. I am very happy with my setup now and will probably not go for an amp anytime soon. The volume is louder than I can handle with my measly Sony head unit putting out 25watts RMS per channel.

However a small sub may be in my future.

That's I checked out your classifieds posts, right now I'm going to hold off though.

Yup looks like there a ton of options out there. Crutch field was a big help yesterday getting my tweeters installed when I had some wiring questions.

This is high on my list.

I'll have to check it out. I'm no audio snob but would like to get the best out of what I got.

After much searching, shopping and gnashing of teeth, I finally located center caps that fit my wheels. Prepped 'em, painted and clear coated 'em. I have black & silver center decals ordered, when they arrive, I'll decide if I use 'em or not.Resized_20220908_085632.jpg

Today I decided to chop my exhaust after the muffler.

I originally planned on making a side exit just before the rear tire but that is where my 6yo son sits and I didn’t want to have to worry about him touching a hot exhaust tip.

After watching a video week or so back, done by "Toyota Maintenance", expressing the importance of cleaning the throttle body and MAF, I did so yesterday AM.
Boy, the TB was pretty bad. I ended up having to use a soft copper cleaning brush to vacate the buildup.
The screen on the backside was gunky and needed special attention.

Next: Heading out tomorrow AM to pick up a set of UCA's and Bilstien 4600 rear shock take-offs. Then I'll order a set of shocks for the front, and when weather permits, I'll swap it all out as well as the ECG Bushing in the front diff.

Finally got around to installing the TRD Rear Sway Bar. Took twice as long as I expected cause one of the upper sway bushings popped out while torquing the top bolt. Had to re-press the bushing and basically start over to get everything to line up again. It’s done now though and I just went on a spirited drive. Probably my favorite mod I’ve done so far. Wish I would have done it years ago!

Installed a lift kit over the weekend, didn’t take good picture because I was filthy and tired but here it is sitting back on its own wheels afterwards. Took about 10 hour all in mostly by myself with an extra set of hands for a couple steps that needed more fingers. Also one minor set back when I ran out of floor jack height and could not get the new leafs under the rear. That was an adventure.

Pretty happy so far. Need to go get my alignment checked, but, I took a short test drive and it tracked nice and straight . Next up is planning for new tires when these wear out.

I went ironman 4x4, ordered Saturday the 3rd, and had suspension in my driveway on Friday the 9th. They have temporarily discontinued their top tier "pro" option, but even the lower tier lift is basically a 2.5 shock body which is quite beefy and heavy.
