Day one down! It was HOT but we had plenty of water breaks. Learned a lot and have a great instructor. Definitely different than driving a car!!!!! Feels a lot like skiing - always looking at where you’re going instead of where you are. Learning curve for sure. But it was a great day all in all.

Shawn, I hope day two is going well! I noticed you're local. Let me know if you'd like to go for a ride. I started riding in 2017 and have an R1200GS. I haven't ridden much lately, since having a daughter. When I first got my bike, I started out riding all the gravel and historic roads in Frederick County. That was a great way to get comfortable with the bike before adding traffic to the mix. Best of luck!

Just got home - I passed!!!! Tapped my foot once on the tight box u-turn but aced the rest of the test. I am definitely up for some less crowded seat time so I would be up for meeting somewhere for sure: Going to have a drink today and “celebrate”, call the insurance company to get my discount and should have the license in hand by Friday hopefully

Congrats! That U turn was not easy. I took the course at HD Frederick and had a hard time on the small bikes they had. At 6'3", I felt rather cramped. Shoot me a message when you're ready!

Love the trail 90s. I still own one. In 2020 sold off 2 other CT90s, some frames, parts and 5 motors

Bad timing for me...leaving town for the Maryland seashore for a trip in the Airstream.

Keep me posted though because I would definitely head up...coming back on September 22nd.

So, looks like the rumors of a Honda Transalp have some merit.

Somebody spotted one out in the wild and got some pics before Honda has even announced it. Here's the video that I saw on it, and then some pics without the watermarks. Kinda looks like the CB500X, NC750X and the Africa Twin had a three way and this is the offspring.

To build that bike, you will need any year cb500x and a level 3 rally raid kit. Lots of folks on ADVRider have tons of experience with those builds. They are pretty capable little machines.

It's essentially an electric dirt bike called a Talaria Sting. I just got it a few days ago after another member here told me about his. So much fun!

That's super cool! Dare I ask the price? How's the battery life and charging on it?

Those are pretty cool. I have no desire to leave earth on two wheels, though, so I think they'd be wasted on me. Fantastic city commuter, weekend fun toy, and I bet you could charge them with a solar setup while out camping. Very cool.

Same here. They had Z125s in our class. I had to sit on the rear seat so the bars didn't hit my knees. I'm sure it was quite the spectacle.

My gf picked up a 19 kawasaki Z650 a few months back. I kept telling her how much easier it would be to ride than her shadow 600. Other than the taller seat height, she agrees. We've only got to go out together once since she got it, but riding season is about to resume. It's just too damn hot to gear up and ride, and we won't ride without it.

Very cool! It looks like the Sur-Ron and Segway E-bikes. Is it the same/similar platform?

Yes. Employees that worked for SurRon broke off and started Talaria. It has several features that people consider improvements over the SurRon but are still very similar.

Looks slightly less expensive too! Those are cool rigs. Kind of the halfway point between a dirtbike and a mountain bike.
