If you’re running the most recent Tesla update, and have iOS- go update your app. You can now see the tire pressure and when it was last updated in addition to the screen

Yeah, that is pretty insane. IDK what your kWh cost is there, but around here it wouldn't pencil out...though I would love to have one. I suppose as more people get them (and Teslas gets its head out of its ass and actually makes enough to keep up with demand) the cost will come down some, but not that much. How big of a system did they quote you for that much?

Took some neighbors out yesterday, who have never been inside of a Tesla. They could not stop laughing at how much fun it is to be in, or drive. They were more shocked when I showed them the light show, Santa mode, rainbow road, and the Boombox.

as it relates to EV's & California....

I see the Cali grid is fairly taxed right now? why? I'm ignorant on this issue.

and I'm watching the effect it has on the EV world. I last tuned in to CA telling folks to not charge EV's at certain times.

    what a mess.

Events like this confuse the technology progression.

It appears CA needs more nat gas power.
CA imports 27% of their power. from other states. (the traders make big $'s on this section of electrons.)

They, and the rest of us, need nuclear. That's the cleanest source that is actually feasible for our ever growing demand.

They could definitely use more NG but will that happen in CA??

I won't share specific details but our management sent out an email regarding CA power prices. We basically postpone any scheduled outages and keep our hands off the units, we just want them to run without the potential of tripping a unit offline.

Last week when they said to not charge EV's and conserve power, we were selling to them for record prices. The one plant I work at was making more than 2 million dollars/hour.

    So true.

We even held off spilling excess water, building up our headwater pool to maximize generation during those record prices.

is CA transitioning to Green energy?

because when I look at the FACTS, uh.....

@ 10am they start pouring on the Dino juice.

    the hypocrisy is unbelievable.

I wonder how much that Solar juice cost them to implement? how many billions?

look at the batteries...they are a net draw for half the day. the wrong part of the day.

Texas crashed during a 2 std dev cold snap. CA is crashing in normal times. that is not record heat, check the history graphs - it's called summer.

Two days of cold weather and they shut our electricity off!!! The idiots running our system have not been doing their jobs!! Now they hire a guy for 900K plus a year, a one time signing bonus of 247K, and up to 500K for moving expenses!!:) This is in the year 2000s and they shut off our electric!!!

Someone did a study a few years ago and said if there was just four people on each area (blocks) it would crash the system. There is no way Texas will be ready for EVs for many many years!!

the more I look at grid pressure...The more I see human error.

it has NOTHING to do with EV's.

it has everything to do with the greedy ambitions of bad people.

when the grids are taxed because we brought on unreliable forms of energy production, humans are placed in jeopardy.

and it appears this is used as a crow bar to implement MORE unreliable forms of energy production.

quit sh1tting the bed with wind & solar and make nuclear the primary aim.

energy production methods must be able to store either fuel or the energy that gets produced.

and right now, we only have production methods that can store fuel -> O&G - Coal - Hydro.

these other forms of "green" energy are grifts. a few people get rich whilst we carry the burden of dumb-azz wind & solar.

for all the solar panel people in CA...do your lights stay on when the grid goes down?

for the record - this is non-political. it is absolutely pro-human.

wind & solar have a place, but they are fundamentally & unequivocally unreliable. I am all for them to augment our reliable systems. nothing more.

    on a lighter note -
and I am STOKED that Buccee's in putting in superchargers in all their stores. (especially, the one in my daughter college town)

well, Texas was a comedy of errors. Lots of things happened that were 2 std deviations from system capacity.

and you are correct. it should not have happened. TX has plenty of capacity, it was an outstanding weather related event.

Without getting into ban territory; the motivations behind the "green" energy have nothing to do with any of the official talking points. It is about who is invested in what and how much they can make by artificially inflating a tech/market with tax dollars. The guy that made that inconvenient movie was conveniently pre-invested in all the things the guberment poured cash into after.

Nuclear is an actual solution, so it will not be implemented. "Let no crisis go to waste."

We have a nuke plant but for what ever reason it was/is not running at capacity! Texas should have another in central Texas,, but run at capacity!:)
