Crawling into bed last night I started to think about work. Getting irritated I had to "suit up" for a customer meeting and thinking about some things I needed to refresh on before the customer arrived. Reached over to turn on my alarm and my better (smarter) half reminded me today was a holiday. NICE!

Then woke up at 4:00 and could only doze here and there. More stupid dreams kept waking me up. Think I just need to come to terms that I'm turning into a morning person...

 

Sucks getting old.

 

Fun day dove hunting with my dad, son, grandson, and uncle yesterday. Grandson is 10 and hadn't shouldered a 20ga yet. His dad brought his old 20ga to hand down, but he brought the grandson's .410 too, just in case. When he'd first gotten the .410 a couple of years ago, he wasn't really that happy about how it felt to shoot, but went along. So, Grandson gets some coaching from his dad - pull it tight to your shoulder, trigger discipline, left foot a little forward and lean in a tad, fire when ready. After a test shot into the pond, with 4 grown men waiting with baited breath to see how the skinny little kid's gonna do with a man's gun, Grandson looks over, grins really big, and let out a gravelly 'YEAAAAAAHHHH'.

Proceeded to knock down the first dove he ever took a shot at, first round. Took down a 2nd before the day was out.

On the way home, he told his dad 'We didn't even need to bring my .410'. Dad says 'That's not yours, it's your little sister's. You gave up ownership of it when you decided you like your 20ga.'

Went out to the driveway yesterday to change the oil in the diffs and transfer case. Decided to install some new mods instead.

Got a notice that my daughter was absent from school last Friday.

Wonder what message I’ll get tomorrow after the first day of school?
