I love the first football weekend of the year. Even though it's still over 100 and will be for a while, it has always been a sign that the suffering is going to end, even if it will be a couple more months.

I have a little rant about that kind. In the fat middle of suburbia, last fall we had several idiots on NextDoor telling everyone it's okay to leave their 7 years old kid at the bus stop while three coyotes were roaming around the neighborhood. 'they're just part of nature'... 'they won't harm a human'...

Not sure if they noticed we aren't in nature. I guess they think that fog of half burned 2-cycle gas from their yard guy is fresh air. Coyotes don't care whether your kid is human, she's made out of meat. If they're missing rabbits and squirrels, three of them together are at least thinking about how little Emily might taste. And is anyone sure the only maladies they're suffering are fleas or mange? I hate to inform anyone that rabies still exists. Maybe get off your ass and stand with your kids at the bus stop.

I also just lost a great next door neighbor to the other side of town, so maybe I'm feeling a little harsh.

Oh yeah, I forget that in most places, people follow college football. We don’t do that here.

...and while instinctually they may avoid humans, once their environment/habitat changes so does the way they respond to their instincts. I lived in the very southeast end of vegas near black mountain (1 acre lots). During the housing market boom KB home, Lewis, etc.. all started buying up large chunks of desert and once the construction started it pushed numerous packs out of their homes/dens. Within a few months these things were just trottin down the middle of the street going through garbage cans, grabbing chickens, small dogs, etc.... We had a very large neighborhood park where they use to frequent at night for water, but it got to be where you'd see them running the park in the middle of the day near families like they just belonged. They are scavengers and when hungry they'll grab and consume anything they can eat. People get entirely too comfortable with where they think they are in the food chain.

I'm not a big college football fan, but after years of horrid teams here at the U of A, I tuned in to see if they are any better this year.

You should sic your attack turtle on them.

Our old subdivision was built in the middle of a field and there were nothing but fields behind it. One morning my wife was heading to work around 4:30 am and thought our dog was standing at the front of the driveway. She kept calling her and telling her to come inside. Glad she didn't because it was a coyote.

Went to Torchy's again tonight and had the "Tipsy Chick" taco (open-faced burrito @Azblue). It was great. It had a bacon bourbon compote to pour over the top. I also saw a plant based brisket at one of the Austin grocery stores. My wife stopped me from burning the store down (cameras).

I eat plant based meat all the time. The way I do it is to feed plants to a cow and then eat the cow. If you think about it, that makes it plant based.

I'm just doing my part to make sure cows don't overpopulate which leads to overcrowding. It's all about keeping them comfortable.

IDK what that is and service sucks too much for google. There's nothing attached to the tent, though.

Has a thermostat, gas sensor auto shutoff, and they keep the tent ventilated.

I’m okay with “Plant Based Patty” or “Plant based Nuggets” but when they are going after brisket?? Oh, hell no.
That’s crossing an unwritten line you long haired hipsters.

Here ya go buddy... Porte Cochere is a doorway to a building or courtyard, "often very grand," through which vehicles can enter from the street[3] or a covered porch-like structure at a main or secondary entrance to a building through which originally a horse and carriage and today a motor vehicle can pass to provide arriving and departing occupants protection from the elements.[4][5]

I know a vehicle aint getting through the one on the front of the tent, but was just making a funny; unfortunately when someone has to break out Wikipedia it's too late for that....

...and just checking on the other topic. Don't want to see anything happen to one of our late night posters!!!!

I'll continue my late posting as I've about fumigated myself out of my RTT. Freeze dried meals are quick, easy, and allow my ass to vent its hatred for the world. My gosh! IT'S SO BAD! :puke:

Yes, that awning would fit that description. I think my buddy could park his 4 wheeler under there, so vehicle, too.

Big thing with a cottonmouth is that they’ll stand their ground. Most snakes (and we encounter them quite a bit here) will do everything they can to get the hell away from you asap. In my experience at least, a cottonmouth will square up and refuse to vacate the premises. Pretty much forces you to kill them unless you’re ok with a venomous snake hanging out on your back porch.
I’ve never experienced one being “aggressive”, as in attacking without reason, but I’ve never seen one try to get away either. Copperheads and others will flee if they can.
This is just my personal experience from growing up in area with a lot of snakes. I’m not a zoologist by any means.
