I too do not want a 3rd year of heartbreak. With that said, I’ve got a group of buddies already lined up for trail runs.

If you don’t really know people yet, Friday night is a wonderful opportunity to meet new folks and create a trail run, or join along with one. The best thing you can do is start to research what trails are out there and what you’d feel comfortable with. Lots of online resources to read up on the trails to get an idea. That way when people are discussing trail options you already have an idea what it’s about. Would be a shame to want to run Holcomb Valley and end up on Holcomb Creek. Unless you’re into that kinda thing lol.

@Cruzer bails on you. Don't worry though, @des2mtn can lead, but he might need a brighter chase light.

Don’t think anything is in stone yet but I know a few of us first gen guys are going to be arriving on Thursday and possibly doin a white mountain loop? Im not familiar with these trails and toyota forgot to put a transfer case and front diff in my truck. Watched some vids. Don’t think I’ll be doin Holcomb creek. That’s all I know.

I think @des2mtn has some routes planned that won’t break everything. Probably not Gold or White Mountain.

I ran both back in May and scouted for this group. At that time, I’d have been willing to lead this 1st gen group on WM… but it was much more challenging than when I ran it with later gens @fisherman951 in 2019. I considered we could stagger the couple of 2WD’s between 4x4’s so we could give a tug if needed for a couple of rough sections. But. There’s been at least one really big storm with resulting mudslides between May and now— the trails may likely look very different. So I think @des2mtn leading other options may be the wiser, less harrowing, best plan.
