Beautiful truck, but damn, that mileage is awful. What's the point of the V6?

13-14 is what also I get in city traffic. But city to city varies , mines has hills and traffic light every block, and congestion, iw probably get 10-11 on the 5.7L, but on highway I can get 21 if I don’t exceed 65mph, and I have slightly larger tires , so 22 mph on flatter highways with stock tires is doable for sure

How did you swing the leather? Didn't know it was an option?

Yeah I’m curious about that as well. Is it a Canada Tundra?

been saying it since it was released…I think (at least on paper) the SR trim is the best bang for your buck in the truck market…even without the 32 gallon tank.

You installed the OEM brake controller where it normally would be? How much was the part? Thanks so much for all the information. You 100% convinced me that my next tundra will be a black SR

@SkywalkingKenobi I have that plug too. I assumed it was ambient air temp plug. I would think if it had fog light plugs they would be near the fog lights but not sure. I will likely just wire the factory lights up with a separate relay and factory like switch. I will have to look at model that comes with fog lights to see how the wiring is configured.

Traded in my tacoma SR for a 22 tundra SR a few days ago. First mods were new to me platinum wheels and oem black running boards. What a difference it made!

Congrats! I have my eye out for a ‘22 CM 4x4 SR, trading my Limited Tacoma in on it once I can find one without a markup.

I sent a DM to Mike Sweers and asked some questions I couldn't find answers for online.

Looks like the components are the same! My decision is made I believe. Black or MGM SR, CM, 4x4. Let's goo!!!!!!

Haha we’re on on the same hunt together - MGM or Black CM 4x4 for me as well.

I went and test drove a DC SR and a CM SR5 at a local Toyota and my mind was made up. Now to be patient…

Awesome! My only potential sticking point is the seat heat on the driver's seat. As long as my wife can see well enough to drive it, I'm all in. There are multiple SR CM 4x4 in white in MI. I plan to go drive one in a couple weeks and know for sure. There is one black SR w my pref specs, but they loaded it down w add ons and put some $1k window crystal BS on it. That thing is $46.5, makes no sense to me to spend that on an SR when an SR5 is like $2k more

Yup. Nothing with SR its a great value, but for just a little more you get a few more options and the engine without the detune.

The SR5, not a SR5 premium, I have has one touch up and down for all 4 windows, that alone is worth the upgrade from a base SR.

Agreed. I’m in TX, there’s 1 black available so we’ll see if I can nail it down. I had a ‘14 Tundra SR and enjoyed tinkering with it and turning it into a Limited/Pro hybrid. The base features and interior on the SR was incredible to me. Coming from 15+ Toyotas over my lifetime, I’ve almost always had an SR5 or Limited, but these base models now a days are loaded enough for me and what I’ll use it for.

Everyone is different, but for me, I’ll be replacing the suspension, wheels, etc. week 1 so as long as they don’t add the $2K in fake “dealer add ons”, the $5-7K difference from an SR5 will go a long way for me.

    Good luck!

I could see Toyota is following Ford foot steps, where a XL with equipment is same price as a XLT...lol

My 22 SR CM has auto up/down on all 4 windows. I believe this is programmable through Techstream or Carista.

Not sure if the SR has it or not, looks like a post after mine says they can programmed for it.

I think that’s the big question for anyone needing to tow, so is it a cooling issue? Different axles? Tune only? I’m surprised Toyota hasn’t answered that somewhere, makes no sense. Cooling or tune and it’s an easy(ish) fix, even adding a large tank once more parts are available in a year or two isn’t necessarily a deal breaker bc someone might develop an even bigger aftermarket tank than the 32. I did the larger tank mod in my 2013 and it wasn’t that difficult, I’d imagine it’s similar here.

Man, I'd keep those silver steel wheels, way better looking than any black painted alloy wheels. Nowadays I think steel wheels on a new truck is more unique than it used to be....

$41k? Absolute steal. The only things I'd consider changing/modifying on that truck would be the bigger fuel tank and unlock the hidden power in that V6TT. Maybe a JB4 would suffice......

Small thing, but I just noticed SR’s don’t come with the “Tundra” badging. Not a big deal, but not gonna lie, I wish it was there. I’ve already posted my Tundie in another thread, so I’ll wait to post after getting my wheels installed tomorrow. I’ll post a before and after.

    Which badging are you referring?
