Let me know how you like it. I really don’t have an issue with mine for clarity, but it has a blemish on the lens that is really annoying.

 

Still tempted to get a new unit. Trying to talk myself into it. Maybe I should go to the shop to play with one lol.

Yes. Works flawlessly.

 

Nice. I like that. I was thinking a cable would have to be plugged in to the phone for Netflix, Hulu, etc.

I was planning on wiring my iPhone mirror cable when I do the DMX1057XR, now I'm doing this. Much beter and can't believe I didn't think of it myself.

Welcome lol. I have both the Amazon Firestick and Roku and I'm sold on Roku > Firestick. I like the interface better and it's more responsive not to mention the remote is vastly superior.

 

I'm a Fubo TV subscriber mostly because it catches all my Astros games and DVRs all with room to spare. Everything is in the cloud so I can watch em all in my truck or phone.

Roku let's me download the app so another plus for Roku.

 

I have a ROKU Ultra that I have not used in over a year since we got a new Sony TV that has all the apps built in, but this will be installed in the dash and will hopefully never be seen again.

Where does the Roku get power from in the truck, or is it the stick that you are using? I'm wondering ofa Roku will work on my current head unit if it's just USB.

 

Based on the Amazon description it needs a USB powersource, I have one floating around my garage I plan on installing behind the dash.

 

Copy that. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think all Rokus are HDMI. I think I will need an adapter to make it work.

Edit..... Best Buy has HDMI to USB adapters in stock.

 

Yup it’s HDMI, the KENWOOD has an input

 

Right now I am using the cig lighter adapter but I plan on hooking up the power to the USB port that sits right above my HDMI port.

 

Which Roku do you have that uses USB power? I'm going to BB in a bit. It should work on any head unit that is Carplay and AA if I get the HDMI adapter to USB?

 

I don't think the CarPlay/AA is necessary as I'm going through the HDMI port which is a separate source.

 

The usb to hdmi more than likely will not work for what you’re trying to do. If your head unit doesn’t have an hdmi input/source, then you’re stuck.

 

The adapters are pretty cheap so it would be worth a shot to try

Ha that's a good payback for your purchase lol. I may just go get the 7600 and a Roku and be happy.

 

This is the one I ordered, the Kenwood has an HDMI port in the back. I have a right-angle HDMI adapter if it makes the depth too big.

 

Yep same one I got. Super easy setup and boots up quick. I've been watching Astros games in my truck lol

 

USB-C to USB adapter to get my USB port working. Tested it and it works. My phone charges and uses it as wired AA.
