    To much to list:)
As I age I find that most of my friends have passed away or are not in good shape. Years on the water does that to a man and some women! I am just so sick of death!! My wife and I have known 15 people that have died these last couple years!! I hate the fact that couples in their 60s 70s and 80s whom have been married forever and have to say their goodbyes to each other thru the glass or over the phone as their best friend and loved one lays incoherent in the bed!! It’s no way to go that is for dam sure!!

Then you get a call from out of the blue from a friend that you don’t have to many of left and he says I came home to a note on the door it read “Don’t come in I’m sorry”. His wife had been in pain for three weeks and been to two hospitals and they could not identify her problem and sent her home. I guess she just got tired of being in pain and took a 38 and placed a bullet into her head!!!

I ask that y’all take just a minute and think about any friends and relatives and for that matter the millions of people that have passed away these last couple years and say a prayer. Life is a very very short existence and one does not know what tomorrow will bring.
    Thanks. Ken

Wow - I'm very sorry that you have lost so many who were close to you. You are right - life is precious, and true friendship is just as precious. Thank you for making us think about that.

    Damn - it’s tough - I know.

Clearly there has been an issue for more than 3 weeks here - sometimes you just never know what’s going on - even with those your closest to.

I feel for you and your friend at least they made it that long though. As tough as it is having to comfort someone who has lost a spouse of 40-50-60 years - it’s worse when it’s the parent of a 14 year old or 18 year old kid - or spouse of someone you graduated high school with 25 years ago.

A few months ago lost an old friend from a few decades ago - good person - just had a mental break it appears - lost it and slapped s local cop she felt was harassing her. A few days later Barney and Goober spot her driving through town and decide to initiate a high speed pursuit through 3 counties - end result she gets gunned down after wrecking and trying to flee on foot. That one was rougher than anything I’ve had to deal with as it was completely senseless (not that cancer, car accidents or whatever make a lot of sense - just potentially preventable by using some common sense on the officers part and realizing just because some lady showed you up / it’s not appropriate to even the score in a big production).

Your lucky in this life to have more than one friend you can count on. Even one is tough at times - I’ve got one and I married her. And I’ve got friends I haven’t spoken to for decades - but the day my old man passed - I didn’t doubt for a second of see them walking through those funeral parlor doors (and sure enough / there they were wearing their finest rival college attire and singing their fight song as they strolled in). It’s friends like that which make life enjoyable on its worst days - someday though one of us will go and it will hit harder than anything I’ve known yet I’m sure. Till then - let the good times roll.

Sure am sorry for your losses man.

I don't have too many that close to me so I guess I'm "lucky" in that regard but I have noticed that I'm getting old enough to have acquaintances from my past (high school, college, jobs, childhood influential figures ie. pastor) who are no longer here.

It definitely forces me to think of my own mortality and that of my own remaining family...

Nothing can be said. Thoughts, prayers, and tears to you and your family and friends.

Just know that you and they are being thought of right now.
