Just wondering….do the SR models with the steering column shifter have sport mode shifting capabilities? Basically, can you choose which gear you want to be in?

Yup, there is a + and - rocker switch on the shifter, and the tow haul button is also on the end of the shifter.

My SR5 has a column, so its not just the SR's. Also the S mode is in the perfect position to rest your hand on it if your shifting alot.

It doesn't work like that, it's not a sport mode, it just locks out any gear higher than what you select.

I use the sequential shifting primarily for wheeling. Been looking at regular cabs, which the majority that I’ve seen so far have column shifters and was worried I wouldn’t be able to shift manually.

It will work better for wheeling since your hand is really close to the steering wheel, you can go to the shifter and steering wheel back and forth really fast.

You could probably even rewire the rocker switch to buttons on your steering wheel since the whole mechanism is already right there.

Rest your hand on? I’m guessing it’s all the way to the bottom and can’t be moved down any further? That should come in handy off-road.
