Eaton I believe has been the main one that has done trd supercharger. Trd might not have made there quote to keep the line in operation from eaton in turn losing it.

There are a few other makers left I dont know if I would trust them honestly compared to eaton and there support.

Main thing eaton will support the chargers for many years or mag. Will still be rebuilding them.

There is a brightside of this guys this means a diesel is in the works officially dropping supercharger for turbo chargers. Mark my word.

There's always the Hennessey super charger with so-so reviews and maybe (big MAYBE) eventually Whipple who's been making some of the best superchargers in the racing world for some time. With Toyota dropping out , might open up new avenues for the 5.7 without forking over ten G's. Unless the 5.7 is going by by completely for another gas motor TBA.

Toyota had 8 yrs to see increases. Pricing is way out there and they didn't really care. Was cool but probably not worth the trouble for them.(eventory, installation, maintenance, etc) Heck, Toyota didn't even offer a real LS or locker for their 4X4 truck, an option they would have sold a ton of.

Makes sense to me. 100% diesels fitted with turbo's compared to 2% gas 5.7's fitted with the Eaton twin vortex super.

Having the supercharger installed next Thursday. Unichip works fine as long as gas has no more than 10%(E10) ethanol.

4 wheel capability comes first for me for major mod. This shouldn't have to be a mod. The Auburn Gear is sitting at #1 on my trucks donor organ list . heh heh

If dealer installs it, warranty is good to go. When mods are done by a nationally recognized 3rd party, the auto mfr usually loses if sued. SEE: Magnuson-Ross Warranty act. Too many are gun shy of the mfr. You are protected with limitations of course. Due diligence iis required. Ask any consumer law lawyer.

Not on a Flex Fuel. Warranty is void if you put a supercharger on a Flex. They were not designed for the flex fuel.

That being said, I am pretty interested how it works out for Talstar. I know it can be done, but with what reliability?

I've already got around 14,000 miles on it, so the warranty would be gone fairly fast anyway. I don't want to wait on the install because if something doesn't work or breaks I would have a better chance of getting the part now rather than later being they are discontinued.

Parts will be around for years. Roller bearings to rebuild kits. Eaton I believe is the supplier for the supercharger they are excellent when it comes to parts in there system.

I don't think a dealer will install on a flex fuel engine and tune it with unichip?

@Talstar who is doing your install? and cost of install? Did you get the Eaton? Where from? and cost of SC?
