Beefier CV axles?

Aside from OEM, any suggestions for beefier CV Axles?

I’ve got a 12” Bullletproof lift and starting to get a little play in front drivers side CV Axle. Looking to upgrade if there’s anything out there.

Yeah, I think I saw those. At that price, it may be a next year investment. Half that I could swing now.

 

Where is the play? In the axle itself or at the diff?

 

The axel has a little horizontal movement, maybe this is normal? and also some vertical movement at the diff.

the passenger side has a little less horizontal movement and no vertical movement at the diff.

 

So that’s pretty normal, the driver side always seems to be looser partially because of the needle bearing on that side.

 

Nice! So maybe it’s ok? I’ve had it at the shop several times the past couple months for alignment, new tire rod ends, Coachbuilders shackles, ext…. Nobody’s said anything so maybe I’m just being too paranoid.

 

Yeah I’m guessing your ok. Just keep an eye on it and listen for noises

 

One thing to keep in mind with CV axles and play is the inner joint at the differential is not fixed and needs to be able to move with as the suspension articulates.
