its well documented here that some of these have wind noise inside either from defective seals or other reasons. the platinum I test drove had it near the front windshield. I could tell the truck was super quiet with the exception of the leak.

I was hoping they would at least have new seals by now but they havent from what Ive seen

My wind noise is bad enough on the passenger side that I'd trade it for a rear stub axle coming out sometimes... at least Toyota has all the parts to fix that.

Only 22 recorded in the list - that’s funny…., and people still think it is a wide spread issue !? The truth is that expectations for tundra are so high, given the good track record, so people blow the whistle for anything. But the last report was a June build date , so it is not an early date bad parts issue .

Silence is good almost 99% of the time.

If I could just convince my mother-in-law of that I’d be all set.

Agree. The only thing I hear is when I step on the gas you can hear the turbo whistle, love it!

I wonder how many of the typical issues still exist for new builds.? We have a deposit on an SR that will have a 9/12/22 build date. Hopefully the wastegate problem has been fixed and figured out as well as the other typical

Really, because your other posts all talk about how you are still waiting on your truck so I’m confused.

New engines are coated to prevent corrosion. A product like cosmoline is used, lightweight sticky oil. It burns off of new engines and may give off a little smoke and smell. Normal.

My 2022 Tundra Limited had a turbo waste gate failure today at 15k KMs.
I received the Parking Support Brake Malfunction - Advanced Ultrasonic Detecting errors and engine went into limp mode.
Dealer has been good about it, have given me a 2021 Tundra 1794 as a loaner while being fixed, quoted me two weeks for the work to be completed.

    What was the production date?

With the later production dates turbo issues are rare.

2/22 build date. Seems like they have a solid grasp on the fix though. The dealer told me they had 4 with this issue in total from the same build time.

Well hate to hear you had this issue.

I agree it would appear that the vendor supplying the turbos and waste gate assemblies finally got things ironed out.

Currently, just tinted windows. Looking to change out the grille and swap wheels and tires.
Picking up my '23 Platinum hybrid in a couple of weeks. Looks like these issues are ironed out? Has anyone with a '23 had an issue?

Hope this is something simple and not a return of the waste gate issue :fingerscrossed:

What was your build date? Just curious...

Have people had this message without it being wastegate? After I restarted it's gone. Is 11/22 the build date?

Don't know on first question, likely yes on build date.

Interesting that the message is gone. I don't know if that's possible with the waste gate problem. Someone here knows..

Yes, it can be issues other than a turbo wastegate. And I believe that code means November 2022 was the build date.

Read thru the posts…it happens, shut the engine down, start it back up, message disappears and you drive for thousands more miles.

What, the fact that you drive for thousands more miles or that others have had that warning and it disappeared?
