With all of your mods, I can't believe you haven't done that one yet. Once I figured out how to release the pedal harness, it took about 2 minutes to install it. I'm heading to Austin later today so I'm really gonna get to try it out the settings. I may have to swing by Discount Tire on my way home to buy some new ones though.

Fellow Submariner here!! I was on the USS La Jolla SSN-701 in the early/mid 90's. It was a GE Electric Boat, so you didn't get to work on it. When I was discharging back to be a civilian, the boat went out to do torpedo drills and came back early with a broken periscope. The torpedo retriever survived the collision, but the Chief Engineer who had the Con might have beat me Civi life LOL.

Was the LA Jolla a SUBRON-8 boat? Maybe Groton, CT?

I'll look for this book. I REALLY liked Blind Man's Bluff. Great book based on Freedom of Information Act and historical documents. Even my wife enjoyed reading it.

Yup Blind mans bluff was good too. I believe my dad served with Sherry Sontag's dad... 61-72 Groton and Holly Loch. At least my Dad used to always say he was going over to Sontag's when I was a kid in RI... Though it could have been a different Sontag alltogether....

I've actually been to the Skunk Works a few times. Several years ago. Post Burbank relocate. Palmdale. We also supported the LM Shuttle Recovery Team calibration effort. Nifty place to say the least. Last time there I was in what was called the Raptor "Building". I was shown the original SR-71 wind tunnel fiberglass mock up. Saw some other kuul stuff..........;)

The F-117 Nighthawk was built in Burbank. The Works was located next to Burbank Airport. That location became non viable. Became hard to test top secret aircraft in Burbank. Palmdale was the logical location. Another one of the Palmdale Works buildings I went to was where the old Lockheed L1011 was built. A super large hanger converted to make kuul goodness......

Let's not forget Jack Northrup's contribution. Aka....a "flying wing long range bomber"........ha...ha....ha...Will never work. Pie in the sky.....gee I think our enemies and "potential" enemies would agree that the Palmdale Northrup AF Plant 42 built B-2 Spirit "flying wing long range bomber" is viable. Oh... wait....they're f**king DEAD............
Never got to go there but I have very good friends who worked there but can't tell me anything...ha

Friday with beers! I also used to go to the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center on the north end of the "base" to perform calibrations. Sverdrup was maintaining and operating the rocket launch stantion facility at the time. I calibrated their "stuff" too. Not sure why I'm posting this here. Not getting any younger. Feels right tho...my Grandson has no idea what I've seen and done. I'm proud of what I've experienced over the years. I'm proud of all the veterans that have posted their experiences here. I'm quite concerned. The potential Air Force Academy qualified recruits is down 46%! Not sure about West Point and Annapolis. We need future military leaders that understand how to protect our wonderful country....I'll stop there...

Nice! Great photo memory! I never got sea sick - ever. I've been in the north Atlantic in the winter. I have actually been the only helmsman on board not sea sick that could drive the boat. That sucked. Lol.
