    Hey folks:

Totally new to this forum and to Tundra. Looking to buy one as my retirement vehicle. was going to order a 2023 but they tell me the wait time is as much as 8-9 months. I found some that are available. One in particular that is available 9/13/22. 2022 new, Black, Black Softex interior, Crew Cab 5.5' bed hybrid V6, panoramic moon roof, PVM, 12 speaker audio, 14" screen and some other goodies. $64k What do y'all think?

I think the bed is too short and I would never own a black painted vehicle.

Thanks for your input. The 5'5' bed with Crew Cab is what will fit safely in my garage, and I like black or the darker gray.

Limited trim, not sure of the official name. Maybe Limited Premium?

Hmm, that’s awfully close to what I paid for my platinum, which was 65k. 4x4 with advanced pkg (power running boards, AVS, rear air bags, etc) Only difference would be the hybrid powertrain and 4x4.

Edit- platinum trim comes with leather, not softex

Welcome to the forum. You can buy a fully loaded Limited without TRD Off Road Pkg for MSRP $59k. If I were going to spend 64 I think you will get everything in the limited plus many more features in a Platinum or 1794 for about that price. The exception would be if you need the TRD OR pkg. then it will be more.

Edit missed you had hybrid in your description when I read it the first time.

That's about the price I have seen for Limited trim.
Go for it if it's your color and options that you like.

Does it have TRD offroad package? For context, I have that same truck with TRD offroad package and paid $57k. My assumption is they have a$7-$10k dealer markup - hard pass.

I mean its going to be mostly subjective answers on preferences: 64K before or after you talk with the salesman? 64k without the extend warranty? Are you sure you want a hybrid vehicle as a retiree car? In 8-10 years that is going to be a hell of a hit to replace those batteries.

This is about what I was going to say. If you like the truck and want it now, sure, but don't buy it cause you think it's a good deal! That seems to definitely be overpaying for what you get.

That is a bit high…I bought my Platinum 4x4 for about that much and it came with the automatic running boards and bed step…but 5hen it’s not a hybrid. How much is the Dealer markup?

But hey…you can’t ask for a better retirement vehicle in my opinion. Enjoy retirement…I do…I’ve been retired for 15 years and looking forward to many more.

Lighten up dude. He replied with his reasons and even said thanks. I guess your reasons weren't enough to sway him.

I live in Canada and read your post and my head drops…. $66,000 is MSRP for the Limited TRD Off-Road in Canada.. plus all the fees and 15% tax, and that’s after they take 38% of my pay in deductions..

Just purchased my retirement truck this week, Limited Crewmax 5.5 TRD for MSRP (Approx $60K before Taxes\Title) here in Richmond VA. Dealt with my local dealer for months and finally my Limited came through. Local dealers seem to be receiving far more SR5 then higher trims due to part shortages. Dealer shared they have yet to receive a Hybrid.

Not knowing how your Limited is equipped, the price sounds about right for MSRP.

    Good luck on your search!

All sarcasm. Can never understand why people come on asking opinions on a particular truck. Is it a good deal I’m sure was his real question. Only the buyer can decide that. There are people paying msrp and up. To me, thats not a good deal. To me a short bed and black aren’t desirable. I hate the red pro interior…Others love it. That’s why there are options. But to ask for an opinion is pointless unless you’re just looking for a bunch of cheerleaders to say yeah go for it!

Well maybe if he said why the 5.5' bed wasn't long enough or why one might not want black it would sway a decision. Except of course the 5.5' bed on the Crewmax is all that will safely fit in my garage.
