Dimensions of non lifted Toyota/advice?

Hey guys and gals! First post. Brand new 1st gen owner.
Long story short, I was under the gun and had to buy a truck over the weekend. This one looked clean, one owner, drove great, everything worked.
Got underneath and saw fabtech coil overs for the lift, no worries, I can replace down the road.
Later on I see there's actually a goofy 4 inch tall extension bolted on top of the knuckle. I have never seen something like that before and it sketches me out.
So I am going to try to replace it with something more sturdy, but I love the look and height of the truck, so I'm trying to determine the actual amount of lift I have. Maybe center of wheel dimension to the underside of the fender?

if it has a bigger lift.. which it appears so if its got extensions on the knuckles.. theres no going back to stock without some frame repairs. 90% sure the frames are cut for driveshaft clearance if its a dropbracket lift

as for something more beefy? im not sure if anyone makes taller spindles like they do for the new trucks.

 

Need more pics of suspension components just so we know what all is going on as well just to go along with what @empty_lord said.

 

Second what's been said already, it's going to take some cutting and welding to bring this truck to stock.

What might be a better solution is changing out your steering knuckle with that spacer for a longer one. I believe Tuff Country sells a longer knuckle/spindle.

This is exactly what I'm going to do. Tuff country has longer spindles (knuckles?) that they will sell me apart from their kit for $980
Worth it to make it safer I think. Then Icon has some long coil overs specifically for 5-6 inches of lift, which I'll probably do a little down the road when I can recover from this mess. My local mechanic quoted me $600 to swap the knuckles (spindles?) and install new ball joints, new brakes I'm ordering and new wheel bearings, because why not?

 

Is that a stock spindle with that uh "ball joint lift kit" on it? Almost looks stock but has that weird deal bolted to it

 

The new tuff country spindles come with new wheel bearings. Also make sure the send you the spacer I had them make for millng the drivers side spindle down too far where the ABS sensor goes into the hub. They weren't aware and made hundreds like this. If you don't have that you'll likely fuck up the sensor. Not cheap....ask me how I know. Did t get a response when I told them I was pretty sure that's the reason mine now activates randomly after the swap. Dialog went dead. If you have any more questions pm me we can talk. Also, there's another guy, I think from a Facebook tundra page, that had the same lift I believe he was able to make everything work with something other than icons. If you're interested I can contact him for more info.

 

Yes exactly, apparently something they did 20 years ago as a cheap quick lift....
