I immediately was thinking the same thing
I guess if you pay as much for taxes and gas as they do in Cali, you better do something to different to keep motherfukers from leaving

They banned 4wd off-road vehicles on the beach here since the 70s. Too many rich people in their McMansions on Cape Cod didn't want to smell exhaust from a dune vehicle and ruin THEIR sand.

Sort off how they tried to ban the building of the wind farm off the Cape because it ruined their view of the ocean.

It's probably because they don't own the beach on their beach front property unlike the blue bloods that do here.

You’re in my neck of the woods, do you live in the area? Or close by? Pretty fun to drive out there especially if it isn’t too busy

I've often wished my truck had color matched flares like that. I think they look better.

Can we see some pictures of that rear bumper?

@Voss - My folks used to camp at Pismo beach when I was a kid in the 60s. We used to dig up these giant clams with a pitchfork and then cook them along with oysters and artichokes. Good times. Sadly I heard the big clams are long gone.

[IMG] TRD Calipers and rotor hats for the tundra came in. Need to get the rotors and pads ordered and find some brake lines now.. they’re TRD. But stoptech st-40 Calipers with 332mm aero rotors. Easy to get parts.

probably do install in a month or so. The mr2 is priority since it’s close to running

In CA, public property goes from the mean high tide line out to the ocean in front of residences. And access cannot be restricted, as much as it drives the homeowners crazy. Think Malibu. Other areas, the entire beach is a state park or county owned. So public. There are only a few areas where you can actually drive on the beach like Pismo.

And it’s $20 to park at any of the “public” beach access areas near LA

Here it's the low tide marker. Only in certain situations are people allowed to cross for legitimate unlikely reasons, but never stay. I think only in ME and MA can you actually own the beach to some extent.

Not as bad here but 1/2 the beaches have parking for town residents only.

Florida is a mess with this debate, I think it's a county decision. Many have challenged the beach ownership in some areas like west palm beach (super rich) but I don't think a final decision was ever made, the owners win either way because there is no legal way to access the beach since there is no public parking, street parking nor public access to get past the huge mansions. Then there's the intracoastal side of the mainland, like where I live. We own the beach, my property line extends about 10-15 ft into the water so we can and do restrict access and technically we can drive on our beach but it's a 15-20 ft drop off from the road so getting a vehicle down there intentionally is all but impossible. There have been a few unintentional vehicle beach days by locals.20220826_084455.jpg
