IPhone CarPlay

Not sure why, but when my phone is in Apple CarPlay mode, I don’t get text message alerts. No chime or display alert from the truck or from the phone, and when I look at my phone, I see the text message that I never got alerted to.

anyone having this issue?

 

Do you have Driving Focus on? That silences text notification.

 

I do not have driving focus on

 

A banner shows up at the bottom of the screen when you get a message. Not sure about audible or other notifications on the phone itself though. Usually put my phone on the sliding door over the center compartment…

 

So I don’t get that banner. I have changed my phone and the CarPlay options to show notification but it does not.

 

Check your phone settings. Settings -> Messages -> Notifications

 

If your phone is on ring, it rings on CarPlay, if your phone is on vibrate it doesn’t

 

Have you tried going into the settings in your carplay? There’s something that says announcements on or off

 

this actually was the only setting that was missed and now I get the banner. Im guessing it will only ring if im not on vibrate as @Alex261 mentioned. But the setting in messages>notification>show in carplay has to be on on top of all the carplay setting. Thanks

 

Make sure that you see this icon on your screen (outlined in red). This will ensure that CarPlay is set to "announce" your texts while driving.
