I have a 2019 and I'm wanting a head unit with Apple Play. Is there an easy swap-out? I'm not wanting to upgrade speakers or anything. I'm wanting to keep all same features (nav, camera, etc...)...just add Apple Play. Any assistance is appreciated!

I recently put in the Alpine Halo 9 with the maestro harness. It works flawlessly. The only downside is that CarPlay is wired only. If you want wireless CarPlay, it seems that Kenwood is the move. I have had Alpine before and I like their UI and almost always plug in while driving to charge anyway so this wasn't a dealbreaker for me. And you can't beat the aesthetics IMO.

Nice clean install! I have the DMX1057XR on the way, expect it will look identical

What's that big doodad in the middle of your dash, in the center 'cubby'?

It's the ICS Fab dash mount; and I have 4 RAM arms attached to it, the "forward" one holds my Garmin inReach; and the other three hold my phone, the GF's phone, and a Samsung Galaxy TabS6 for mapping (GAIA and Earthmate for off pavement, Google Maps on pavement) as well as displaying vehicle data (OBDFusion for OEM truck sensors, VictronConnect for the second battery and AC-DC charger, SwitchPros, etc)

This is the headunit I will be adding to my new 21 tundra Pro down the road if I upgrade the whole system. That is a nice unit!!

Looking in to doing this, the factory mic is terrible on the truck. Was getting ready to place an order, does this require a single din dash kit of some sort?

It does require a "dash kit", most (all?) are compatible with either single or double DIN head units

I have learned over the years to buy what you want the first time and enjoy it.

I cannot find much on this either. Can a 2020 head unit be swapped into a 2017 JBL?

I have a 2019 JBL head unit. Have a chance to buy a 2020 JBL head unit that has CarPlay. Do I need any additional wiring harnesses or is it completely plug and play?
