If I put a 1 inch block in the back do I need to shim or drop the carrier bearing I have 5100s on the front at the top setting and need to bring the back up.

I did a 1in shackle lift on the rear. Then got weird vibrations coming out of a stop, carrier bearing drop fixed the issue. I'd plan on doing it. Cheap and take about 10 minutes.

I run a 1” block and have had zero issues with vibration. I was considering the carrier drop, but I marked the angle before install and it was barely different with the block.

I would venture to say the shackle may change the angle differently

Every truck is different. If there are no vibes, then you are good. If you do need to drop it, it's only about $15.00

Ya, that could be. In fact it makes sense that the angle would be affected differently. Either way OP, don't sweat it. Worst case it's 2 bolts out, add spacer, 2 bolts back in and like 20 bucks? I don't remember. Don't even need a jack and your truck isn't crippled in the mean time.

Do know that blocks can cause leafs to prematurely wear = sag. Lift shackle is better and rides better, can still accelerate wear/sag, but a better option than a block. If you are open to spending a little more RAS will lift the rear about an inch, support the factory weak leafs and ride/handle better.
