That guy has serious mental issues.

In the past 3 weeks he has bought a second gen tundra pro, a pro 4 runner and a fj. All of which he has already owned literally 5-6 times!
    It’s such odd behavior.

That’s the thing…he hardly has enough subscribers to make it worthwhile. He’s not doing paid advertisements. Last time I looked into it, a million views on a YouTube video translates to roughly 1500 USD.

I think he either works at a dealership or has a hookup where he gets highly desirable models he can make his money back on (or better), and he gets them for MSRP. Or close to it. Flips it right after they’re no longer available and before he puts hardly any miles on it. Or he’s doing well enough in his day job that it doesn’t matter.

It’s risky, and I’d never do it, but I bet he breaks even or comes out slightly ahead with all his experience.

He is 100% not motivated by the views. The dude just needs a different hobby lol. I can’t even muster up the motivation or time to get a new truck if I wanted one right now. What a just pain in the ass dealing with dealers, and he’s doing it multiple times a month.

He is making the state comptroller happy. All those transactions generate sales tax.

His videos are either a new state he’s moving to or what prior gen Toyota did he buy.

He also goes from “I’ll never pay markup for anything or buy anything other than Toyota.”

next video “this is my raptor I paid markup for.”

Also made a video saying not to buy last gen tundra. Next video he’s buying a last gen tundra for the 6th time lol.

don’t mean this as hyperbole, but I really think he has some kind of issues where he is addicted.

I remember than and was talking to a forum member here about that. He just had the 22 from Toyota to review and said with the current market prices of the prior gen it's the same price to buy the 2022. Then not only does he not buy a 22, he buys the SR5 based TRD pro prior gen.

Before ya'll come at me, the prior gens are great .But there's a huge difference between the pre 2020 and the 2020-2021 TRD pro's.

Not much difference between the 19 and 20-21…still has the same red trimmed leather throughout. It does not come standard with dual climate and seat heaters though...seems the 20-21 Pros do. My ‘21 SR5 has dual climate.

The 15-17 Pros are definitely SR5 based. I like that that they don’t have that hood scoop. :anonymous:

I was regretting my 21 pro deposit when I test drove a 2019 pro. Bu the seats and feel were worlds apart. The plastic steering wheel, less soft touches, and the seats were stiffer

No smart key access too. I’m not turning a key. I have a 21 and it’s already way too outdated. No way I’d go even further back. I can’t wait for a year or so from now for things to calm a bit so I can get a new pro at msrp.

Starbucks is honestly overrated anyways. I try to go to local establishments if I am going to pay for coffee, the problem is when I am traveling for work there often arnt many options depending on where you go.

Maybe in his deranged mind he thinks he is Elon Musk and can just post up the opposite of what he wants and influence the market.

the turning of the key is the reason your Tundra can't be stolen by any amateur out there.
    Just saying
Just last week in Ontario Can. out by London a bunch of new Rams were taken.

Hahaha I was literally thinking the same thing. That would be psychotic. However, so is buying the same tundra 6 times in two years.

I have never watched these "untamed motors" videos. From the videos I have seen with Scotty - he always says whose truck he is testing. His videos are real short, states his opinion (as a mechanic many times) and when the video is over its a definite Yes or No for him, and you can form your own opinion. That's all I want. I am not buying anything off a video just looking for good info to help toward buying it or not. Seems the only thing he didn't like with the Tremor was the exhaust note.

Funny old guy. Yeah, I would not want to be standing right in front of him when he talks the way those arms/hands fly.

The one thing I find inconsistent about Scotty is how he does this:

    "All Mercedes are unreliable garbage!"
    *2 weeks later*
"Here's a Mercedes my customer has had since 2009 with no major issues. That must mean this is a great Mercedes model that I can recommend that you buy."

He thinks all the new Mercedes and BMW's are garbage from the couple I have seen.
He likes the older ones if they have been maintained.

Scotty has 5M+ subscribers, is entertaining, and makes sure to include videos for everyone. The Untamed guy can only dream about Scotty’s numbers.

Love Rams? He has videos for you. Hate Rams? He has videos for you. He has no problem posting wildly contradictory, click-baity thumbnails. His content is less polarizing than the thumbnails would imply.

The brand he is most concerned with above any other is HIS OWN. He isn’t going to alienate subscribers by trashing their favorite vehicles. I think he’s actually a very shrewd YouTuber.

His net worth is $7-18M depending on your source. Not bad for a guy who rambles on about cars and trucks and flashes a photo of a laughing animal every time he laughs on his videos.

Scotty kept referring to a "fan belt" in a newer Camry.

No such thing. Odd thing to keep saying for a self-proclaimed "mechanic".

Beam me up Scotty ! no I am not a trekkie.
I do know he is not a fan of the new Tundra V6 even though he seemed to like the Ford V6.
Probably because the Army friend guy who owns the Tremor put over 150k miles on the previous F150 with no issues. (he says)
Maybe after the V6 Tundra proves itself. If we are not all on EV trucks by then - LOL
I know he hates that the Tacomas are made in Mexico now.
Last I speak of him unless he posts an entertaining truck video which I will share.
