Model year 20 Frontier's got the 9 speed auto made by Jatco, a Nissan owned company, under license from Mercedes. This tranny kicks ass!!! Maverick is a compact, not a midsized.

I had an early 90's hardbody that need a rebuild at about 60k and a Stanza that had trans replaced with about 20k. I'm sure the new models bear no similarity in design but it still gives me pause. I also had an Infinity I30 that was rock solid.

This 22 is a new truck that has absolutely nothing to do with the 90's. The old hardbody actually still has a great reputation. This is my slow build thread, not a bash thread.

I kinda like the idea of a compact. My 2004 Tacoma was a great size for what I use a truck for except for towing and that would be a non issue if I sell the trailer.

If you had a hardbody with a tranny problem it had to have been an anomaly. Plus nissan since 2000 or so is a renault joint venture, so the new stuff pretty much no relation to the old nissan /datsun venture. Not to mention if you had a hardbody without a stick could it really even be considered a hardbody ??? o_O:boink: just messing with you..... Wtf is a nissan stanza ? Lol

Got the 1.75 gallon water Rotopax mounted up on the headache rack. A bit off kilter using the existing holes on the rack but good enough for me. Not OCD. It's a freakin water jug. Will order another setup now for the other side now that I know it works. Two 1.75 water Roto's will refill my WaterPORT. I have a couple Wavian NATO Jerry cans that I use for spare gas.

I might add the Rotopax's are beefy as heck. I could drive over it and park on it and not frack it up. Seriously.

Freaking $$$. You can use it to level out a RTT setup under your tire. FYI.....Rotopax has 2nd's with minor blemishes for 50% off from time to time!

A have several various sized axe's. This Fiskar's sharp as heck axe fit perfectly on the Quick Fists that I mounted next to my WaterPORT. Thin Blue Line stickers still visible. A plus of course!

2nd RotoPax up! My Frontier prefers 87 but Circle K had 85 40 cents off from 4pm to 7pm yesterday. Had a half tank so I topped it off for $3.13 per gallon.....

No. Only .03% are apparently affected.

Mine wasn’t in the initial batch last month, but when they expanded it last week mine was added. I hope the fix isn’t too intrusive on the transmission.

Some of the pawls are a bit short on the engaging end and could possibly not make good contact. I think there has been 4 reported instances of it not engaging properly and some damage occurred from a roll away. Stupid little part......

It seems the pawl itself may not be the root cause. The pawl works in combination with a wedge and parking rod. This assembly is getting some resistance which is causing the possible rare malfunction on some Nissans with the new 9 speed transmission and is a safety issue. Weird since this 9 speed has been used on three model year Frontiers, Titans, and the Z. Hmmm......
