I recently had a new rack and pinion steering unit installed on my 06 Tundra TRD V8 4wd. Steering wheel is now harder to turn especially when trying to turn at very slow speeds like turning around in a parking lot. Is this normal and will it loosen up with time? It is like having only 75% power steering now. Thanks much.

What did the installer tell you? Normal?

As someone who has owned their Tundra for 20 years, mine has loosened up a little with time.

Although I don’t ever remember it being difficult to turn at low/no speed.
