Have the dealer shut it off at your first service…I missed it for a second but the quiet is so much nicer.

 

Getting ready to pick my new Pro up by Tuesday, hopefully. Therefore, are you saying the dealer needs to simply plug into the OBD port and turn off the piped in sound? Thanks for clarifying.

 

The sound is not piped in, it comes through the speakers(artificially generated).
Dealer(or access to Toyota Techstream) or Carista is required to turn it off.

 

Not sure where they plugged in but I had it done while I was having a couple of recalls done. I prefer the normal sound more than I did the fake.

That rat bastard. LoL My Pro just landed at dealer on Wednesday and was at wrap shop by Thursday for full Xpel Stealth (matte) wrap that I’ve had an appt to do for a month.

Except for ridiculously pointless smoked headlight/taillight film, it does look pretty good though.

windshield tint is pretty douche-y too

 

I'm loving this matte ppf look. I didn't notice the smoke head and tail lights and would have left that off.

I did the carista , easy and cheap, also shuts off seat belt alarms

 

I also saw that yesterday on FB. The matte looks good, especially ceramic coated after. I dont think the matte is a good option on my color, per se, but I’m definitely digging it on Lunar. Would probably look good on white as well.

If I ever get ppf done, im sticking to what ever the regular finish is and then doing ceramic. It’s all just so damned expensive to have it done.

 

I like the (slightly) smoked headlights…reminds me of one of the differences of the 2nd gen Pros vs the regular SR5 headlights (I had a 2015 and swapped headlights)

…but this one might be a bit darker

 

Don’t these things have the potential to void your warranty?

I am thinking you show up to the dealer and your truck is doing funny stuff…they plug it in and (maybe) realize you had a retune then are some of them liable to give you a hard time even though they can’t prove your tuning had nothing to do with the issue at hand?

Yes the dealer could potentially void your warranty if they want to be an A hole about it. If you can find yourself a mod friendly dealership they might overlook some things.

Another option is you could always detune / uninstall the jb4 when you have to take it in for service.

 

Only thing douchey here is your comments. Sounds like you're just butthurt you weren't the very first PRO with the matte PPF so you need to knock this dudes tint job. Not everyone has to like the same shit as you, or do you want everyone to have the exact same truck?

 

Check out Carista if your dealer won’t do this stuff for ya, not all will as crazy as it sounds…gives ya access to a bunch of other stuff as well…well worth $30 to get into and customize my Pro

Patrick, thanks for the heads up. Do have a part# and website where you purchased yours? Did you see an option to change tire size? I am immediately installing 295/70/18's to replace the stock 285/65's and suspect my speedo will be off slightly.

 

No prob!…unfortunately that’s one thing I didn’t see or show in the video…I go through all the options on camera but that’s something that’s not there (wish it was!)…this is where I got mine, it’s a direct link to the module (not one of my sponsors)…let me know if ya have any other questions about it!

Congrats, my sales guy called me said it’s in, they’re gonna pdq it and should be ready in a day or so, great timing cause I get back into town on Friday.

 

I'm liking that orange on your picture. But I saw a TRD sport in person in white and I think with the allblack windows and black trime it looks good. Especially since it's 8k cheaper lol

 

Lol…..damn I’d go with the white as well. I ended up with this one cause the dealer got it and offered it to the ones on the wait list…..no takers they wanted their order color. I had a lunar rock ordered but when they asked me I said I’d take it. I was like 5th in line. Stikered for just over 70 but with the dealer “protection package” with tint needed at 72.5. No actual “market adjustment” just the little things the dealer adds. I think it was a good deal considering how much of a mark up other dealers are charging.
