And that's the part I will never understand. Hoarding something but then just letting it rot. I can't imagine thinking I'm going to make an old school bus badass but apparently they do.

I did notice this 1st gen Tundra sitting with flat tires at a mini storage place in town. It's been there long enough to show up on Google Street view. I left a message to see if they want to sell it. I need my own crackhead build.

I'd love that if it wasn't a drop-top. I love the early 70s Cutlasses. Only thing I'd like to have more in '70-'72 era is a Chevelle. I'd planned to get a '60s Impala a few years ago, but it fell thru.

I had the same question on a diff't truck forum about 20 years ago, and got a few different responses, ranging from,
    • "If I can't enjoy it, why should I let someone else take it?" to
    • "when you ain't got much, you hold on to whatever you can that's got some value, then wait for it to increase in value, but a lotta people who do that dunno how to take care of investments, which is why they ain't got nothing to begin with..." to
    • "I like looking at it, love that patina!"
The TL;DR takeaway I got was, people are greedy and/or selfish as hell and/or set totally unrealistic goals and/or are just straight-up hoarders.

That drop hitch is rusty af, makes me wonder what else is up under there. If it's got a drop hitch and looks that tall on flat tires, I wonder what they've got under it for suspension? Clearly it's a V8, 4WD, AC.

Not sure but I'm not going to buy it if the frame is toast. Just like what you said, he may not even want to sell it.

It's astonishing to me that those engines only made like 225hp stock and my 2.5L Nissan makes 190ish.

I think the 73 transam 455 SD made over 300hp, but yeah, emissions/fuel economy really killed things in the 70s-80s.

You know that little furry strip of wind stop that goes between top & bottom windows, goes around the frame a storm door closes into - Mouse Fur.

A number of GM's vehicles were under-advertised for HP/TQ over the years. One of the classic examples was the late 60s Vettes w/L88. They pulled in excess of 550 HP and TQ, but I think they were advertised as high 300s or something? It was something absurd like that.

In other news - after several victory posts on a group chat for Fantasy Surfer, the poster turned out to be a tad pre-mature. He got third. Oof, awkward...
And yes, I took him down. #1baby.

Here's a link to the most recent findings from Spiker engineering on their Toyota lower ball joint bolt test.
    https://www.instagram.com/p/ChdEav7PidW/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

These results make me want to replace my bolts again. Think I've had them off 3 or 4 times since original ball joint replacement.

@richsadams the "green" bolt is the one I bought and I believe you did as well.

Here's the part number and explanations as well from the last post

Edit: Think I'll make a thread on this

Welp, gotta do some prep for next month's trips. Ordered some Billybobs for the rear and a set of EBC Orangestuff pads and rotors for the front. Both of my rear shocks are toast but now's not the time to go overboard on the rear.

Yup, build a team of 8 with available funds and see whose team has the highest score in a contest. Scores are based on how far each surfer goes on your team.

Awesome work. I've got a couple of cornhole frames outside I need to refurbish.

And man, I'm sure it's bittersweet emptying the nest out, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it. We got a super-late start, we're about 10-20 years behind everyone else with the kids. Got about 9 years left before the last kid is out the door.
