I finally got this installed today mated up to my TRD Skid plate nicely. Getting to the front bolts to tighten was a bitch but after a few expletives I got them tightened. Came out nice. Desert tan powder coat added before install.34603A9F-3A08-44BC-A00C-28C5FDB5FCA9.jpg78A242AF-A7D2-4FFB-BF35-A3A07FC0C942.jpg C00DF8A4-3113-4876-8066-0677BC62D33A.jpg

You need to add a rear plate. The rear cats are still accessible without one.

Unfortunately if the cat theives get cut while stealing your cats expect a civil suit resulting in far worse punishment than the theives get for stealing your cats. Your intent was to do harm, they'll claim. "No your honor, my intention was to kill the thieving bastids." would be my reply.

I’d like to see a Cat thief hiring a lawyer to bring this trial. For all the protection threads and options on how to stop them, there should be 100x those on what a crook can expect to see when they try.

This is all about deterrents right? Physical / psychological / fear / uncertainty/ doubt should all play into this equation.

Makes me think of this trial where a trespasser was shotgunned by a trap.

Yea gonna stick to the front only cover for now, if the rears get stolen I will just straight pipe the rears. The fronts do all the work anyway!

Tac0tunes only offer the front shield that covers the 2 front cats or do they also offer the rear?

is Valhalla the only one that covers the rear if you buy the front and rear section?

rci doesn’t do a full cover from what I read.
I’m planning on buying a cat shield so hoping to go the right direction for a full protection.

Yes it only covers the front cats. I don't think TT offers a plate to cover the rears.

There's one detail I don't care for with some of the cat plates that have cut out designs. On some it wouldn't take too long for a determined thief to use a sawzall to connect the slots and essentially cutting your plate in half. Granted they will still have to bend the two halves away to get their chosen implement of destruction in to cut the pipes.

Try your local dealer(s) and mechanic shops to see if they're selling full coverage shields. My guy down the road does and they're awesome.

Valhalla offers a rear plate. I used all 3, front skid, front cat & rear cat. Great quality and easy install.

I might snag one of those Valhalla rear coverage plates and hook it up to my TT plate. Most fronts look the same

I also went with the Taco Tunes plate and it matches up with my front PRO plate just fine. I simply went with The Taco one due to price and availability. Caught them on sale with an additional discount code.

Another option for a rear guard would be Talons Garage. They use a matching 1/4" aluminum plate and they offer a front and rear guard similar to the Valhalla ones. Last I checked they had them in stock as well.

Yeah, that guy's sense of humor is on point and he's pretty informative. If you like him, look up his WW2 meth soldier story. That one is nuts!

Trying to do the install on my 2018 Limited with TRD skid plate. How the heck do you tighten the front bolts???? There is no access once the plate is in place.

I’m going to do a write up on this one I installed on my Tundra and Sequoia once I get a couple of clarification questions answered from the manufacturer. It’s a cat theft deterrent, not really meant to be a skid plate, but it’s a single piece design that covers all four cats, from a company that is veteran-owned. So far, I am pleased. Pic under my wife’s Sequoia below link.

Its a pain in the arse, but it is doable. Probably be easier if you have skinny arms. I used a standard length wrench on the pass side and a stubby on the drivers side to hold the top nut from spinning.

Looks like my Desert Eagle shield. Man it must be a bitch to put that whole piece up. Mine doesn’t cover the back cats and it’s pretty heavy.
Edit: Never mind, just saw it’s only 1/8 aluminum.
