Toytec vs 6112 vs Trd offroad

I have kings front and rear with out of the box settings, really plush on the street and smooth off road on high speed desert runs I've been on. Money well spent and they're rebuildable which is a plus, i took off the front sway bar also

I've only driven the BOSS 2.0 and they are great on road. I'm thinking (when the money is back to normal) I'm either going the RADFLO route or a little beefier with ADS 3.0.

Reason: I'm doing more off road than i originally thought.

 

Now all I need is $1300.00 lol. Would you do 5100's on the rear?

Definitely go rear BOSS with resi's.

Huge step up from stock.

Right. If you don't lift the rear, they won't work.
Not sure what rear shock would work best with no lift though.
But I would definitely upgrade the rears as you upgrade the coilovers.

I'm not entirely versed with the bilsteins, but you can't go wrong with them if you're staying stock in the rear.

How do you guys define "better"?

I'm pretty happy with the factory ride (TRD/Bilstein 4600's) but I know some people think its too soft and not "truck" like enough? That's fine, to each their own but I personally don't want a harsher "truck" ride.

So that's why I'm trying to understand when you guys say the ride is better, in what way is it better? Thanks

 

i felt the stock stuff was too harsh........my 6112's are much smoother. Really thinking of going toytec radflos

 

Me too!!! I already installed the boss rear shocks. Trying to figure which fronts to get but leaning towards the radflos.

 

what did you have on the rear before? What's the difference you've noticed?

 

I was one of the first to run the 6112s when they came out. Had them installed on my 2007. They were night & day improvements in plush ride quality over the stock shocks/coils.

In comparison to the TRDPro shocks the 6112's are about 50% as good of ride quality.

 

In my experience . . . and you're looking for road ride quality . . . always Bilstein . . .but why not the 5100s . . . I tend to think of them as more road-worthy than the 6112s (more off road ready).

Stock black shocks lol. I have CB+3 so I needed a longer shock. I still have the stock black shocks up front...
Haven't really driven it yet so can't comment on the difference. The 10 miles I did drive I couldn't really tell a difference.

 

For daily regular driving, I didn't notice anything. What I did notice is the hard hits off-road are a lot smoother. Normally I would cringe before impact, with the arms on, I wouldn't have to cringe as hard.

 

I'm curious if I can run the Boss's without a lift in the rear. I'm not keen to raise the rear, i like how i have it set up now with the 6112's at the highest and 5160's on the back.
