Hey guys. Gonna be placing an order (probably in the next few days) for some gears. I got a quote from Revolution a few months back, and it was around $1600 for the set. I'll also be installing a Harrop/Eaton e locker in the rear. Might get the gears REM polished too. The 2 local shops quoted me $1000 and $1600 for install. Both very reputable.

Any cons for the Revolution gears?

I know there's other brands. Yukon, Nitro, ( and Sierra? Maybe I'm mistaken and totally made that brand up somehow...)

I've read alot about noisy nitro gears, and I know a friend who had a terrible experience with them and customer service issues.

I remember when I did alot of research several months back I landed on Revolution as the best of the bunch. But I don't quite remember why :monocle:

They’re as good as the others.

I was between nitro and revolution. Ended with nitro. Agreed, they’re just as good as the others. Can’t go wrong with either one. I’d say rem polish them just for the piece of mind. I wish I got mine polished but in the end, no noise after my first fluid change.

+1 for the Revolution 5.29s. No issues here personally with them, been running them since August 2021.

    Too many, but not enough....
Hit up Keith at dirty deeds, you won't have any doubts about what to do on a tundra after talking to him.

    Lots o’ mods
On Keith’s recommendation I went Nitro 5.29s and had no issues. I personally have always felt that the whine issue is overblown. YMMV.

I have Revolution 5.29s with the REM polish and supercharged and tow quite a bit, and had them for a year and a half. Not a single issue and no noise whatsoever.

That's good to hear. I know if they'll stand up to your abuse, they'll definitely handle whatever Im able to throw at them.

What kinda of gasket/sealant is used for the front and rear diff? Googling wasn't too effective. I'd like to bring the shop that's re gearing my truck the correct toyota sealant/gaskets whenever they slap it back together.
