Does anyone know how the AC controls actually go? When I push the fan button, I get cold air, without the “A/C on” button. The “A/C on” does not even show on the screen yet I still get cold air. When I turn the “A/C on”, I don’t notice much of a difference. I’m on Lo always but it feels way cooler then just fan air, is AC automatically on when on Lo? Or I’m just trippin cuz it’s too hot out and any air feels like AC?

What is the vents set to? If you have it set on the defrost on or the floor and defrost it will have the AC on because the defrost activates the AC… Set the vents to just the dash vents and turn on the fan and it should blow outside air in…

It’s just set to dash vents but the air seems cooled

My guess would be because you have the temp set to low. Test it out by setting the temp higher (70° or so).

Well it is set to Lo but that’s the idea, I know it’ll be cool, but the Lo, top vent without the “A/C on” feels way cooler then it should, to the point it feels like A/C air and very cold to the skin

Thanks but I’ve read that. When on Lo and cabin is hot, Auto will blast AC with inside air circulation which is standard. That’s not what I’m talking about Tho.
I’m talking manual fan start with only 1-2 notches

From what my google-fu is telling me it's all about that Lo setting. With it set there it's going to run AC unless you hit the AC button to light it up, and then hit it again to turn it off (overriding the auto feature as my previous post indicates). To test it, get it off that setting, and try turning the AC on, then off, and give it a few minutes to see if it quits blowing so cold. In the Lo setting it sounds like it blows cold air automatically, so you would have to manually turn on AC and then switch it off.

That's about all I got, as I don't have a 3rd gen and google can only do so much for me.

You hit it on the head. Just tested and it seems to be Lo only. The auto feature seems to reset every time truck is turned on/off. Thanks

Does auto maintain same temperature regardless of outside temparature?

I believe you can set the truck to not enable auto A/C mode every theme the truck is turned off/on. In the vehicle customize menus on the head unit there is a setting called “A/C mode with AUTO” that by default is on. 95D6E355-5998-418D-97DD-F6C3C4C4CB05.jpg
