Have a 22 Platinum CrewMax 5.5' and want to get a nice rooftop tent. Looking at the 18" KB Voodoo racks since they are compatible with my Bakflip MX4 (though, open to other suggestions). Would want to get a good rooftop/bedtop tent and was hoping to hear from people that have some and what they recommend.

Looking to fit 2 adults plus a 22lb dog (who likes to take up 1/2 a king size bed stretching out)

How many people do you want to comfortably fit in the RTT? Do you have a target price range?

Just edited my post. 2 adults + 1 22lb dog. iKamper looks awesome but is really pricey, though I honestly don't really know what is a reasonable price.

Bang for the buck, it’s hard to beat Smittybilt.

CVT (Cascadia Vehicle Tents) makes a pretty good tent and has excellent customer service. They also offer periodical sales where most others don't. They have 4 actual brick and mortar locations... Bend, OR. Las Vegas, NV. Kaysville, UT. and Chattanooga,TN. If I were buying a new RTT, I'd probably spend my money with them.

Also, keep in mind, you can find deals on gently (and not so gently) used tents. Look on Craigslist and Offer Up in your area and check out a website called Expedition Portal.

    Good luck!

Yeah looking at it now, the pricing and everything makes it really attractive. I assume it fits well on the Voodoo racks?

I'll take a look locally, CVT looks to be pretty pricey and if I was to spend that much I'd probably just go with the iKamper at that points. Appreciate the recommendations!

I have an Overland Vehicle Systems Nomadic 3 tent that I have been pleased with. It wasn't the most expensive tent out there and seems on par with the Smittybuilt tent that a friend has.
