Reading the comment on the FirstGenOffroad video it looks like SPC changed the slug design? I'll have to pull out my install sheet, I put mine in over four years ago and this is what mine look like.

They did. Current revision is 2019. The old bushings were a 1 piece design and they added the split. I'm guessing because some balljoint manufacturers oversize the joint to get it to fit worn spindles and this was their cure for it.

 

Okay, that makes sense. I was confused because mine doesn't have that split on the lower adapter underneath the spindle, just for the snap ring. I have the old design; here's the diagram from my instruction sheet:

 

Yup mine are the same, I noticed a the split in someone's picture awhile ago and went looking for answers lol.

 

Yeah I would probably replace the knuckle insert and snap rings with new ones just to be safe, I’ll snap a pic of mine later if I can remember.

Yeah, didn't quite go so hot today. Got everything buttoned back up, and the brakes bled. @FrenchToasty I'll see if I can find a link for those inserts.

Here's how putting the insert back in went along with the snap ring.


On the left, the snap ring from crackie. On the right, the snap ring from the V6. Proper forked.

@Toytec Lifts Is there a Tundras.com applicable discount code available? I see the current code 441522 is only applicable for Aluma series products.

 

I don't know if they're active here or not. I shot a PM yesterday or day before and haven't heard back. Vendor subforum hasn't seen traffic in a while. (Edit: They answered my PM, just took a little while. Always best to call if you need immediate help!)

I agree. Fastmodz.com can get everything out, and shipped for $58.39. UPS 2 day ground.

 

You may just want to call SPC and tell them, "I think I'm an idiot and f'ed up reading the instructions, can I pay you guys to expedite replacements out?"

They're in CO, so definitely open right now.

 

I called them earlier. They said buying direct from them was about $70 just for the parts. Didn't ask about shipping....

 

Oof. Shit. Only other thought is to check their vendor list "find a dealer" type of link.

Maybe hunt for someone that's a registered dealer in KY or surrounding states within driving distance who may have the parts on-hand.

SPC reccomended using Summit Racing.

 

I'm constantly plugging Summit Racing. If they have it, ORDER. They're typically quick af and 1,000% reliable. Superb customer service.

I've got one 35-40mins south of me. Used to go there all the time when I was doing more GenIII swaps.
