You guys charge your phone? I just usually let it die, then let the wife yell when she can't get a hold of me.

 

I always use a wired connection in the truck anyway. Music sounds better wired.

 

Wireless CarPlay doesn’t seem to matter - at least I don’t notice a difference between it an wired CarPlay

 

I thought about trying to get somebody to 3D print a MagSafe charger holder for that worthless cup area (used to hold the removable ash tray in the 2007) under the radio. Something with a cord wrap that you could shove into the indent - then you could just plug it in and hold your phone right there. I'd still need to get a wireless CarPlay adapter...

 

It certainly does for me.

 

There’s companies that make those.

 

Maybe once I upgrade the audio I’ll notice a difference. With the stock JBL, I might as well just play music on my iphone speaker

I’ve seen multiple things I thought of get a deal on Shark Tank after Mrs Machine told me nobody would be interested in them. She’s a dream killer.

I have an idea kicking around that The Woman says I really should try to market. Problem is, I have the idea but not the technical know-how to even build a prototype.

 

Me too. It looks perfect in my head and then I'll draw it out on paper. My wife will look at it, sigh, tell me how I just wasted a sheet of paper, and deduct the cost from my allowance.

 

LOL. I never even drew it out. Just told her about it and she went "Ummm, that's actually really smart. Do it". I need somebody with knowledge of batteries and electrical systems though to help design it. There's a similar existing system out there, it's a matter of scaling it down for my idea.

Not sure but I heard he would have had a twin but he absorbed them in the womb - that's why his brain is double left sided.

Back when I was a working carpenter as a kid we made these tools for driving a single nail with a small diameter pipe and a steel rod inside it that had a weight at one end. Ball hitches worked perfectly for the weight cause you wouldn’t bruise your hand. Very handy tool for the occasional nail that you could not reach with a hammer. About 15 years into the trades and I saw them being sold (mass produced) at the hardware store. Now at Walmart, Home Depot, white cap, and Amazon. Some carpenter got rich!

Seriously though, I'd take @TaquitoBandito 's advice and start w/ @RainMan_PNW ; I would think he'd be at least able to tell you if your idea made sense and was workable (technically speaking), and he strikes me as a man of character so I wouldn't worry about him swiping your idea!
