Got it off. Remove Electrical Connector on 06 Tundra ABS Actuator.

I'm chasing a 2 amp continual draw problem which I have followed through pin 5 of the B fusible link in the main fuse box under the hood. The wiring diagram shows this lead powering the ABS unit on the passenger fenderwell under the hood.
I need to remove the connector on the ABS unit to continue the chase but am unable to figure out how.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

GOT IT OFF, the chase continues.

Whats the secret technique to removal?

 

Here is the unit with the connector locked in place.


Note where the screwdriver is placed, pry the white locking piece upward.


Pull the locking piece upward which will release the connector.


To lock the connector back in place, push the connector back into the socket as far as it will go...do NOT try to force it all the way in.
Next, while pushing the connector in, push down on the white locking piece at the same time. The locking piece will "cam" the connector into the socket while you are pushing it in. You might have to GENTLY tap the locking piece downward with a small hammer to get it to go down and fully lock the connector in place. TAP THE LOCKING PIECE SOFTLY WHILE PRESSING THE CONNECTOR INWARD!!!

 

So is your and draw coming from inside the harness?

 

Found that the alternator I replaced last summer was causing the draw, .32 amps constant. The alternator came from NAPA and will go back for replacement tomorrow.
Found a broken sway bar/axle link broken while under the truck so that will be replaced also.

 

My LS430 has a very similar connector for it’s ABS unit.. Might even be the same??

Sensitive ABS issue is gone but my check engine light is on and no speedo or odometer.

 

What code comes up from the check engine light?

 

P0500 no speedometer

Thanks. Reconnected it and disconnected a speed sensor to disable the abs. I bought a reader that displays sensor readings but going to leave it disabled for now.

 

Hi Guys, I know this thread has been here for a few months now. I was hoping someone can help me identify the "thing" in the picture? I want to move it so that I can install my auxiliary battery there.I used the picture posted here, hope that's cool. Thanks in advance!

 

EDIT: Wait, I'm on the wrong side of the truck. Just noticed the ABS brake spaghetti. It resembles the resistor for your fuel pump, but that's under the brake booster on the driver side.

EDIT2: Looks like it's the fuel pump driver module, p/n 2308050150. Interesting. Wonder why in the hell it's on that side, when the resistor is on the passenger side? Reference photo here:

 

Oh wow that was fast, thanks Shifty! it looks like you are right on. Do you know if this thing must remain flat in order to operate correctly, I'd like to move it out of the way so that I can install my auxiliary battery tray there...

 

Seems most likely it could go anywhere but heat may be the problem. Those fins are designed to face up like that for heat dissipation. I believe it's a resistor.

 

Thanks a lot for your input NickB. I was thinking to relocate it within a few inches from its original location, just enough to make room for the battery tray. I'll try my best to keep it upright...
