Anyone know what the holds are that Toyota is putting on a number of Tundras?

My Tundra was due to be put on a train from San Antonio on the 5th. I called the dealer today to try and get an update, and they are showing it is currently on hold and for the dealer to check every Friday for an update. Grrrrrr!!!

    WTF??!!

Apparently changed from no status to F status at the rail yard after Hold for recall. Salesman says F status at rail yard is Final Inspection.
I don’t know what to believe anymore

Hopefully it’s only for one of the existing recalls and nothing new/upcoming

My 2021 got put in a hold status in October 2021, no reason given. In December hold was revised to recall due to the power steering issues. I finally took delivery of my Tundra on March 8th, 2022. There was virtually no communication between Toyota and the dealer or me during that timeframe. The waiting was frustrating. Keep checking the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website for active recalls to piece together your information puzzle. Good luck.

F is for freight. Not final inspection. Typically a vehicle goes from A for allocation to F once it has been built and ready to be put on a train. Unfortunately F does not guarantee your truck actually made it on the train. For example, mine was built 4/29 and has been in “F” status ever since. It was just sitting at the factory until 7/27 when it was finally loaded on a train where it is currently still in transit. Once it is loaded on to a vehicle carrier to the dealership I believe it goes to a “G” status for “ground”.

    BBall,

I would agree in part but my truck actually has been sitting in Lordstown (rail yard) since 7/5. I’m thinking that there is different versions of F status once it gets into the Port or rail yard.

I tracked this Tundra from Texas to Chicago and Rail Yard Lordstown Ohio back on 6/29 to 7/5. Recall was fixed at 7/18 scheduled to ship to dealership 7/21-7/26 Didn’t happen. That’s when it went into F status at the local rail yard.

Today my salesman just told me most Tundras are being held??
So I’m guessing F at port or rail yard also means QC Hold.

I think there has been a new "FI" status I have seen which is what you're describing - which maybe does stand for Final Inspection. But who knows. I'm just some random guy who has learning WAY MORE about this whole toyota logistics nightmare than I ever wanted... haha

This. I shouldn’t know as much as I do about Toyota’s logistics.

    Mine is in FI status.
I remember seeing this being described as Final Inspection, aka a QC hold.

Also, for what its worth, my truck does not, nor has it ever displayed any open recalls that I have seen. I have checked this page regularly since recalls were announced back around 7/12 or so.

Inquiring minds want to know, what is the website you are accessing to see the status and the freight rail yard? Mine is at Annapolis Junction, Maryland right now and I only know that because my dealer told me. Where/how are you getting the screen shots? Who's the Guru?
