Hey guys, this might be a stupid question but I wanted to check to see if this is at all possible or should I keep it at a .5 shim?

    A .5" shim will raise it 1".
    A .25" shim will raise it .5".

On the website it says .5 provider .5inches of lift and then 1" provides 1 inch?

It should say the actual thickness of the shim.
If it reads it provides .5 of lift, then the actual shim would be .25 thick.

    But to answer your original question;
I have 6112s on the second to the lowest setting with .25" shim.
My goal was to hopefully get a better ride than using a higher setting on the shock.
Not sure if it really helped.

So the answer is yes, you can use a shim with the 5100s.
It is my understanding that if you go over a total of 3" with your lift, you may run into alignment issues and need aftermarket UCAs.
I only ended up with 2.5" of lift and have no alignment issues.

Although I still ended up with a pretty stiff ride..

That makes much more sense. Thank you very much for your input!

    You're welcome.
On the setting I used on my 6112, I should have ended up with 1.9" of lift.
Since I added the .25" shim (.5 of lift) I ended up with a total of 2.5" of lift.

I used Toytec shackles on the 1" setting in the rear.

Before lifting the rear, the 2.5 of front lift made the truck almost level.

Wow that looks good. I am thinking about going with the .5 shim to add a total of 1 inch lift to the front because my 5100s are currently on the middle setting which I believe is 1.57". If I add one more inch, I will appear much more close to level while still being under the 3" mark. I think i should be good then.
