I have placed my order today. Now the wait starts....
Dealer could not give me any idea on wait time.
Allocations take 50 to 60 days, but special orders are just out there in space.

Hmmm...I was told change over to 2023 at the production plant is September? Maybe there's a period when they produce both 22 and 23? Can anyone on the forum clarify? When does the SA Texas Tundra production plant make the switch over to 2023? Both for a period of time?

Not sure of the exact date, but I can tell you that I have a 9/8/22 build date for my 2022 Hybrid Platinum.

My dealer contacted me yesterday, he's getting an allocation for a Limited. Looked over the build and it doesn't have half the features I want in a 1794. It wasn't the interior I wanted either. I declined and sent him the build I wanted AGAIN (third time) and he said he'd put in for that in the next allocation. I've been waiting for a 1794 since March. He did have a 1794 on his lot a few weeks ago but as with every Tundra he gets, it's already sold before it hits the dealer lot.

Huge shout out to @mike220022. Finally receiving my truck tomorrow. Called the dealer and my truck is def there waiting for me to pick up. Unfortunately I did have to pick the Limited, instead of the Platinum i originally wanted but I am beyond impatient. I will be there to pick her up and post pics if anybody wants.

I placed an allocation hold at the end of February 2022 for and SR5 with the premium TRD off-road package and took the first allocation offered to me last week for an SR5 with the top TRD off road package offered. Truck is a model year 2022 with NX in the vin number. Being built September 22nd.

    Awaiting 2022 Mesquite 1794
    None yet ;-)
Greetings from Ottawa, Canada. New member and first-time poster!
I ordered a Platinum 1794 in Smoky Mesquite two weeks ago. The Sales Manager, my wife an I had a pretty enlightening conversation about wait times.
It seems deliver will be between 9-18 months for my specific build. He said, "You're ordering a 2022 but you might get a 2023, 2024 . ." and laughed.
When I asked why the massive delays, he shrugged and laughed again and pointed behind himself at literally banker boxes full of client orders. Apparently, that one dealership has over 800 vehicles on back-order. Dozens of Rav-4's, over 60 Corollas, 68 Tacoma's, etc...
He said that the American market is getting fulfillment first, so feel blessed you're south of the border.
They only have one of each vehicle model at the dealership. These are used as Demo models. They're not for sale at any price. The rest of the vehicles on the lot are used, or trade-in's. There are literally ZERO new vehicles available!
Also there's no wiggle room for price. You pay MSRP or the next guy in line gets it. The only positive is that there is a $500 deposit that's fully refundable. If I find something sooner, or wish to cancel my order, I just go back and get my money.
The dealerships are at zero risk of getting stuck with something they can't sell; people are literally desperate for anything!
    Cheers.

Thank you for the insight. I'm in the states and have been waiting since mid-March for my 1794. Dealer has not received an allocation for my order. The only good news I've received is that Toyota has "accepted" my build configuration.

Seems we are wanting the same truck. I put down my deposit last December. Still no allocation and hence no ETA. Good luck. Hope you don’t wait too long!

Dallas, Texas here. I placed an "order" end of February and gave a list of exactly what I wanted. SR5 crewmax in Lunar Rock with advanced TRD offroad package and some other goodies. I was told that I would have to wait until the summer to receive it. In about April, the dealership called and told me it was delayed to next year as a 2023 model year. I was super dissapointed. I got a call from the dealership last Thursday that they were able to aquire a reserve unit that was allocated to them with exactly what I wanted. I took delivery of yesterday. Loving the truck so far.

Waiting on an 2022 SR5 Double Cab; 4x4; 6.5 ft bed; blueprint - "order" and deposit this past Friday (25 Aug). Was told 14 weeks. For what it's worth, I am in Atlanta area and am getting from a dealer in New England.

Frustrating process. My December deposit has not yet resulted in an allocation. Our last communication said we would likely receive an allocation between mid-August and mid-September. Still waiting.

MMSyrup - What part of North America did you order yours from?

Sidebar...The frequency of new Tundra pics (other thread) posted on this forum has slowed considerably over the last 2 to 3 months. My guess is that Toyota has slowed production in favor of addressing some of the defects that have surfaced. It's a pure guess..don't work for Toyota or have any official insights. Anyway, if I'm right...I've been waiting since March for 1794 trim and I'd rather wait (4 to 6 weeks - not months) if that means a better quality product but that's just me.

I’m in Ontario, Canada, a couple hours north of Toronto. I too would like a truck with no issues or immediate needs for recall. A 1794 in Smoked Mesquite with long box will come my way, one day. Won’t it?

It will, it will come your way and I have the confidence in Toyota that it will not let us down. Keep us posted and I'll do the same.

In mid Missouri. Got call from dealer said they had one that someone cancelled due to a different color. I jumped on it $57,673 which is below msrp with the factory panoramic roof package. Has the heated steering wheel nicer headlamps premium audio etc.. At any rate the v-spec is 700 lower than the Toyota build site. I was told it had a build date of 8/10 and that it would probably be at the dealership around the first week in September. Sold my 2016 Pilot elite outright. Nothing to drive. Good thing I’m retired and have wonderful folks in my life. Now I wait…………………….. I will keep posting. Hope to hear from those in the tri state area as to your situations(findings). Thank you

Trucks are out there just gotta put in the work and effort to find them even if that means jumping on a plane and flying in and driving back! Bought mine in Kansas drove it 8 hours back to Austin all in one day.

    This.

Only in my case it will probably mean flying :plane: to the NE and a 17 hour drive back home. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas (which probably means some fun weather to drive through) :mudding:

1K deposit in April outside of Cleveland looking for Lunar Rock, CrewMax, 6.5' bed, and a sunroof. Got a call in late July that they had mostly the truck I wanted but not the color. The picture given to me was the wrong truck (stock pic) so I passed. 8/11 I was told they had Lunar Rock, CrewMax, 5.5' bed so I took it. Build was 8/12, Processing 8/26, Rail Depart 8/29, estimated at dealer 9/16 - 9/20!

Are you calling every single dealer or is there a better database than cars.com with all the stock pictures?

I ended up using a consultant (not quite a broker) but he tracked down the dealer and exact truck I wanted at MSRP as I couldn't find anything close to what I wanted in my region (and everything around was marked up 5-10k+). The way the market is right now, looks like it will be some of the best money I've ever spent in purchasing a new vehicle.

The plant has been struggling with parts supply issues and other internal concerns. There is a 20% daily production drop planned in September and October which is also incidentally their model year changeover.

Hopefully they take the time to make improvements and work with suppliers on better parts and then come swinging out of the gates!

it is very frustrating to wait for sure.

That's disappointing to hear. Nonetheless, thank you sir. Sounds like you have some insight. Are you comfortable elaborating on, if you have additional insight on the "...other internal concerns."?

Put my $1000 non refundable deposit down 9/30/2021 on a TRD Pro. They said it might take a year but I thought they were being conservative. No allocation in sight.
